So I just checked my messages on my phone and have a message from a man named James Samual. He says that the message that I am about to recieve is extremely time sensitive and that if I or my lawyer do not call him in his division at 661-210-4685, Friday morning he is going to send two of his legal officers to my residence and they are going to escort me and my two references to the court house where I will face a big legal mess. But if I do not want to have to deal with the legal issue I must call him or have my lawyer call him. I don't even know who this person is and he doesn't really state who he is calling for or anything but I did try to call the number he gave but when I call it sounds like someone picks up but then I get a long beeping sound like a fax machine.

I "googled" this number and it appears that some of the people being called are being told they owe money on a Payday Loan, whether or not they've ever taken one out. I'm wondering if it could also be one of those outfits (collection agencies, or?) who picks up peoples' info on past PDL's and calls to try and get money? Did they in fact tell you that you owed money?

I would save the message (just in case you need it later). I would answer the phone next time they call and be pleasant, ask them for their company name and address to send a payment to (don't send anything - just to get their address) and then report them.

You can TRY asking for a name and address but I'm almost willing to bet they won't give you an address "due to the confidential nature of their business." (That's what I was told). If you do call the # and they say you owe money, they'll more than likely want your credit card/bank info over the phone or will tell you to pay by wire. (please do NOT give your bank account/personal credit card info!)

Well I actually talked to the the man today. He said now I am due in court tomorrow morning and that he is calling me about a cash advance I recieved from National Payday Cash Advance for $400 in November of 2008. And that two FBI agents will be at my residents in the morning to show me all the legal documents and escort me to my local court house with my lawyer and if I don't have a lawyer then I need to have $5484 in cash to give to him or I will have a big legal mess. The thing is, I never had a cash advance before until June 2009. And any debts that I did have before February 2009 were filed in a bankruptcy. He then proceeded to tell me that he has bank records showing that this company that I have never heard of did deposit this $400 into my checking account around the beginning of November in 2008. But the bank he is saying the money was deposited into, I didn't even have around that time. I think it is all just a scam or someone trying to scare me. He kept trying to tell me that he was going to put a red flag on my credit report too so that he could ruin my life and make it where it would be impossible to to get jobs, loans, etc and it would have the effect as if I had filled a bankruptcy on there. I told him go ahead it really won't hurt anyway I already have a recent bankruptcy on my credit report. The he said I will see you in court tomorrow morning, have a nice day and hung up.

I did call the local police department and they checked the court houses, and there is nothing saying I need to be in court and there is no one even scheduled to come serve me. He also informed me that there is no way that they would be able to serve me since I live on a military base, so it would have to be sent to me certified mail. But if he calls me again I need to come in and file a police report.

Ohmygawd, I can almost see his nose growing, over the phone!!! How can these scammers live with themselves? Depending if they're even located in this country or not I don't know how much good filing a report with your State Attorney General would do, but it wouldn't hurt to try in case these low-lifes contact you again. And I'd keep an eye on my credit report (even if you do have a recent bankruptcy) If they DO call again, tell 'em you were waiting at your front door for the FBI to show up and no one came! Hmm, come to think of it, if they're invoking the name of the FBI in their scams, wonder if it might not be a good idea to contact the FBI and let them know?

yea, these are scammers.. i would try my best to ignore them. believe me, they will not do any of this.. if you were to be served with a summons, they would simply hand you court papers. they would not escort you anywhere. whats even more laughable is the part where if you do not have a lawyer they will make you pay more. they are crazy..
