I've been dealing with Loan Shop On-Line, which thanks to this site, I've learned is highly illegal in North Carolina. They called my job today again, and again I have told them that I cannot receive calls at my job. I asked for something in writing with what I owe and I would mail a money order with a partial payment. The woman, Jamie, said I should know exactly how much I owe and would not tell me!! Below is the e-mail I received from lovely Jamie:

NO CONTACT HAS BEEN MADE, MAKE A GOOD FAITH PAYMENT OF NO LESS THAN $150.00 BY THE 5TH OF DECEMBER AND GET THE SETTLEMENT OFFER THAT YOU WERE TO RECEIVE FOR THE MONTH OF NOVEMBER. IF YOUR INQUIRING MIND WANTS TO KNOW THE ORIGINAL BALANCE, CHECK YOUR E-MAIL ADDRESS FOR CORRESPONDENCES THAT HAS ALREADY BEEN SENT.

I WILL WORK WITH YOU TO CLEAR THE SETTLEMENT OFFER BALANCE IN THE MONTH OF DECEMBER, 2008.

ONCE YOU HAVE MADE THE GOOD FAITH PAYMENT CALL OR E-MAIL ME WITH THE REFERENCE # FROM YOUR RECEIPT.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS.

Sincerely

Jamie Bailey

We accept Money Gram payments.

Money Gram Information:

Receive Code: 4959
Pay To: LTS Management
Wilmington, Delaware
Acct #: use ss# or call in

Amount: $

(Settlement) due immediately upon the receipt of this E-mail

No exceptions!!!

My 'inquiring mind' would really like to know the exact amount they claim that I owe on a $200.00 loan... But unfortunatly, I do not have the e-mails from several months ago stating how much I owe....

Even though the e-mail had Jamie's name on the signature, the name on the e-mail header was Angie Daughtry....

Wow! These guys never cease to amaze me. Considering they charge $60 every two weeks for a $200 loan--you can assume you would have overpaid after four debits.

I assume each case is different...but they were one of the relatively easy ones for me to work with. Sorry you're having the trouble!

Such an 'informative' e-mail from them ( saying this sarcastically..of course) Can someone tell me if Little Loan Shop is illegal in the state of PA? Thanks.

Wow!!! I found them one of the easiest to work with. Once I sent them my C & D letter and a money gram for the remaining principal balance of $30 I got a PIF email from them. I would call them on the phone and speak to someone else. Be firm let them know they are not licensed to lend in NC, that you borrowed $200 and have repaid X amount and you want a paid in full email from them. (You can try for a refund if you over paid) Did you ever notify them of their legal status in your state?
