Has anyone recently dealt with National Credit Adjuster regarding the collection of illegal payday loans. I have received 1 letter of collection from them stating they have bought the debt from Global Group Holdings and the amount I owe is $430.00, although this number is subject to change. I immediately sent a DV letter to them and have not yet received the return receipt. Isn't it illegal under Federal law for the amount owed to be increased by fees and interest when they never was a contract signed by me with the original creditor in the first place? Any info on this would be helpful.

I won't be able to give you any information regarding National Credit Adjuster. But I will suggest you to not pay them anything unless they validate the debt for you. If they're unable to validate the debt within the given time period, you can send them a cease and desist letter and ask them to not contact you any further.

I stumbled across this info on National Credit Adjusters. Arkansas Attorney General filed a lawsuit against them, and they refused to totally answer 2 formal investigative requests regarding the agencies practice of collecting on payday loans. The AG noted that the Collection Agency, in a very limited response, revealed they are in the business of buying and attempting to collect on old payday loans taken out by Arkansas residents. Attempts to contact NCA were unsuccessful. They are currently prohibited from collecting in Arkansas until it answers the inquiry by the AG. So if anyone in Arkansas is dealing with this company here ya go. I hope to use this info to my advantage in filing complaints in Florida re them trying to collect on illegal debts.

I also received a letter from them (NCA) collecting from a PDL that I have paid the principal and "legal" fees for a total of $390 on a $300 loan. I have overpaid $300 and was attempting to have the PDL return my overpayment. I called NCA to settle the "debt" but they didnt want to listen to me. They said I owed to money to the PDL. I want to file a complaint with my state (Florida) AG Office and with the State Dept. Financial Regulations.
How do I do that? Can I do it online?
Thanks.

I got the same letter. They bought a loan that I had with SGQ. Paid 630 on a $300 loan and then they buy it and say I owe another $510.

My debt validation letter is on it's way. I'm not going to give them one dime.

Additionally, how can they legally collect on an illegal debt?

I would keep close watch on these guys. They should not be collecting on an illegal debt but groups like this are known to push and even sue you anyway. Keep records of everything and make sure that you go to court if they do sue you.

Not showing up would be a bad idea as they will most likely win the judgement against you. Lastly, get proactive and file a complaint immediately with your's and thier attorney general (they are in Kansas I believe) informing that they are collecting on an illegal debt. Perhaps you can get them off of your back before it gets that far.

At least that's my plan. Not sure if it's a good one or not but that's all I've got!

just because a CA is licensed in your state doesn't mean they play by the rules.example:

a couple of posters are in FL.most internet loans are illegal in FL making the loans non-enfroceable,and non-collectable.meaning yes NCA is trying to collect an illegal debt.if a DV doesn't work then you should file an AG complaint asap.again just because a CA is licensed doesn't mean they can't be reported if they step out of line.state AG'S are the ones who should get the complaints filed.check with your AG'S website as some do let you file online.

I sent them a DV letter certified mail and it has now been 30 days with no response. I also spoke with the Florida Office of Financial Regulation regarding this. If the original loan was made illegally, then it is uncollectable according to them. What should I do now since they have not validated the debt?

I received a letter today from the Florida Office of Financial Regulation and illegal debts are3 uncollectable even by a licensed CA. They cannot collecct on these and if they mark your credit reports you are encouraged to report this as well. Look up the Press release issued in June from the FLOFR and send this along with your debt validations. That was also recommended by them.

I received a letter from these people yesterday saying they purchased the PDL I had from National Group LLC. Of course the amount is way over what I owe. $510 and I only owe $30 bucks. My loan was done in California so I take it that my complaint should go through AG location here. NCA is based in Hutchinson, KS.

Guess I will need to do validation letter and file complaints along with the others.

I just received a letter from another collection agency stating they had bought the same debt and I owe 430.00 to them now. National Credit Adjusters still has not validated this debt ,nor have I even heard from them. I guess I will send another validation letter to this new company Collection Training Institute, LLC as well.
