Which do you think is better? To neotiate with the PDL or to change your bank account and fight them???

I REALLY don't want to go through the hassel of changing bank accounts but then again I don't want to keep paying on PDL.

I am currently negotiating with BIG and Cash in a Wink.... BIG offered 2 payments of $100 and I'm done.... Cash in a Wink offered 5 payments of $100 and I am done.

I would still close your account and open a different one up at a totally different account.

You know what it is a hassle to go through opening up a new account but which is worse being ripped off every payday from the pdl's or wasting 30 mins opening a new account. I think I would rather waste the 30 mins myself.

Just be careful. If these people have your account they will sometimes take money out even if you have a deal with them. They will settle with you and then debit for the extra charges that they think they are entitled to. It is not a good decision to keep your account active. There have been instances where a pdl will come back and debit after a year or two. There is just no way to be safe if your account is active

Here is the situation. I have 2 loan shop payments due 10/5/2007. One for $30 and one for $60... I am going to try and call them and make an arrangement to have the payment dates moved. If not I may just have to make that payment.

I have a payment for BIG due on 10/18/2007 for $130...

I have a payment for Cash in a Wink for $100 on 10/16/2007...

I think I will call Loan Shop and try to make the payments due later, my bills should go through shortly then I can change my get another account. Washington Mutual said they can open another account for me and that the other account can't be forced open and I won't be charged fees.

It is just another safety measure. If you are at the same bank, mistakes happen, and the old account could be linked to the new. They have you SS# so they can try to access that way. They assume you will be at the same bank, and for some reason it has been known to happen. That is why we suggest opening at a new unrelated bank. I also at one point used WAMU and now I am at a completely different bank. I would not open at the same bank. Too many chances for errors

I don't know about Washington Mutual, but I was in a similar situation when I was about to close my account. I had rent and such that needed to go through. But after talking with my bank, they worked out a situation with me. I was overdrawn so I couldn't block certain things because that was a charge. But I could put a hard hold on it, and they watched for the check that I had written for rent. It was returned and then he went back in and let it go through. It put me further in the red, but because I had direct deposit he knew that it would be covered when that came in. Once it all finally went through I had closed that account.

I did however have to borrow $200 from my cousin, which helped me open a new one and get my direct deposit in to it as soon as the other one went through to bring up my previous account.

I can still check that account and see every PDL I have still attempting to debit it.

One thing you have to be wary about if you stay at the same bank. Sometimes they link the two. Or some how the PDL can find it. Check with the bank and make sure they are not linked and there will be no taking of the new to cover the old... And always get it in writing!
