I recently applied and received a payday loan from a netpdl. The day i received my funds, all of the information i used to apply for the loan was given to other companies. Resulting in my checking account being debited by Several unauthorized companies. I was forced to close my account. My bank has advised me Not to give the payday loan company my new checking account information. However, netpdl is refusing to take payment in any other form, causing me to default on my loan and have HUGE fees tacked on. What do i do? I currently live in Oklahoma.

First check and see if the PDL is legal in your state. The forum has alot of information of different PDL's depending on what state you live in. Also, it's illegal to give out your information without your permission. By law, the PDL CAN take payments in other forms. I've done it myself..I've sent money orders out to PDL's before. They will accept them if they want payment that badly. Don't let them threatened you or tell you otherwise.

Chargers is right. If you send them money orders based on what you can afford and you don't get them back, then guess what? They accept payments! Don't let them push you around. Also, it would probably be best to close your checking account and get a new one, based on what's been happening recently.

The company netpdl is not actually a lender. It is a company that gathers your personal and bank information and then sends it to the lenders. I had a few loans through this company and none of there are legal. I don't thank than any of the loans you get through netpdl are legal. The ones I had are tribal.

Since you click on the "I Agree" box some companies will deposit money in your account without you knowing who they are. they already have your SSN and bank account information. This makes it harder for you to contact them or send ACH revocations. By closing your bank account and opening a new one you have at least safeguarded your finances. Call your bank where the funds were deposited and see if the bank can give you at least a name or phone number to contact. If the bank has no contact information I don't feel you owe them anything. If the company does not have the stones to give you a chance to return the money by giving your bank contact information then they don't deserve to have the 300.00 repaid by you through other means.

Hope this helps somewhat.

There is a list on this forum (but I'm not sure where it is) of PDL's that are illegal in certain states. They should all be illegal, if you ask me. If you send them a money order, you can always track money orders and find out if it was cashed. Don't give any other information out to anyone else. Closing your account and starting a new one was a good idea. :)

I think the list shows the payday loan laws by state, there is a link to that in my signature.. as for a list of lenders that are illegal - for various reasons I have never seen one.. if there is one please share the link someone... if not - it would be a great idea to start compiling one for people.. for quick reference.

I was looking at one of the links you have about contacting PDL companies which are illegal. It reaaly is a great help to me and helps me breath a bit easier. I DID find out PDL are "prohibited" in the state in which I live (PA). I do have CA's who have been trying to call me about PDL's. However, I know the SOL (of my state) had expired on those debts. I wondering,..I tried to 'dispute' items on my credit that were placed there by CA's trying to collect for illegal PDL's. Do you have any advice on how to remove the itmes,..if I can? Thanks. :)
