Threatening my credit score

I had a total of 3 PDl's, I closed my account in August 09 and now they are calling me and telling me that if I dont pay the loans back.. they will report my account to the credit bureau.Via this site, I was able to find out that PDL's are illegal in NJ and they are asking me to pay off the loan plus interest and not applying the money that was previously paid in fees. Can someone tell me what I can do.. I dont want this reported and I dont want to pay them anything more than what it owed.

To begin with they have no legal leg to stand on. So, you must stop worrying first. If they report to your credit report then you can get these entries removed by disputing with the credit bureaus.
IMO you need to report these creditors to the AG's office and Federal Trade Commissioner's office.
