Hello All,

Quick question. I received a phone call from DARE LLC out of Florida. They claim I took a payday loan out in 2007 from National Cash Advance in Ohio. They told me I was involved in a check fraud investigation for not paying this back and having the check return "several" times NSF. They said it was going to be turned over to the "local" courts, though which court,Ohio or Florida, they didn't say. They said they would put in a request for a letter of validity but that doesn't mean it would stop the "process" of sending my file on. Should I be scared about jail for this? or are they blowing smoke? they said they would email me the letter, but I don't trust that. Any suggestions on what to do?

Thanks,
Mike

they are blowing smoke.i assume you are in ohio right?either way debts are civil matters and besides an ACH is not a check.never heard of this piece of garbage.do you have a number that they gave,or that comes up on caller id?just know that anybody who either states they are an investigator and threatens arrest is part of a bottomfeeding scam.what you do is file a police report as again whoever called broke the law hand over fist.if you can post a number maybe we can get info on these losers(that's right losers)so you can send a c&d letter.

okay i'll explain this so you can understand.bottomfeeders spoof, mask and disguise numbers on caller id.it's totally illegal, and again i will never advocate calling these places anyway.they are scumeaters that belong in jail.btw i did call that number and got nothing so tell me again the reason for your post.other than to spread the BS.

This is NOT a payday question but I cannot find a straight answer for it....if my car loan company calls under a bogus number - i.e. cannot call back as it comes up as a non-working number....are they accountable by law in any shape or form??

Thanks!
