In ohio 2 store fronts i can not pay any morew first choice i owe 700 due friday, the other is advance america for 501. What will happen to me they both told me if i do no pay them they are getting me on writing a bad check . Is that true or a scare tactic two years ago i was in the same boat it went to a collection company and i paid them off is it still the same please do not need to go to court . Todd


First choice and advance america so will i go to jail for defaulting on my paybacks

No, you won't. Again, you cannot go to jail for not paying a payday loan (legal or otherwise). Advance America is a member of the CFSA. If you've not yet defaulted, you can just go into their office and ask for their extended payment plan. As a CFSA member, they're required to allow you to pay off the current balance in 4 equal payments. The payments will be due on your next 4 pay dates. No further interest or fees will be added.I'm not sure if First Choice is also a CFSA member. I'll do some looking and see if I can find them on the list. It doesn't hurt, however, to ask them to offer you an extended payment plan. Just tell them you can't afford to pay it as agreed and need to work out a payoff arrangement.
