In Ohio, payday loans are legal, with limitations.
But if you deal with Tribal loans, are you bound to Ohio or Tribal law?
This company (we found out too late duh us)..has been sued by the FTC already. See below:
FTC Action Halts Allegedly Illegal Tactics of Payday Lending Operation That Attempted to Garnish Consumers??? Paychecks

Lakota cash will not answer our calls, or return our emails when we inquired as to what our challenge code is, and to arrange early payoff.

We are thinking of exercising our right to stop electronic payment, and then deal with them through another means, such as cashier's check, money order, etc. I want to head this off at the pass before they start taking tons of $ out of our account.

You are only bound by the law of the state you reside in...you do not live on the reservation and you are not a tribal member. They will more than likely try to confuse you into thinking that the loan is in fact legal when it is not.

Follow the link in my signature line for procedures on how to deal with this type of illegal loan.
