I got a call from Accellerated Collections and said they have an old loan from Cash Supply in 08. They said they are going to send a civil summons for my county. Back when I took this loan I paid balance then closed my account. I sent them letters and everything. Now they say I owe them 600 dollars. I don't have any of my old paperwork as it was lost in a move. I know pdl are illegal in NC but what about gettting taken to court?
What should I do?
Thanks for your help.

first file a police report as they broke the law.second know that while pdl's are illegal in NC this is also a non-garnishment state.this bottomfeeder would have to take you to court in the village, county, town,or bourough you reside in.very difficult considering those two factors.file the police report.then also file AG,AND FTC complaints against this bottomfeeder.use the number that showed up on caller id,or the name they gave.bottomline they will call back, and try to get you to pay to stop the summons.it is all lies.do not worry, and report them.then try to ignore them as again they won't do a thing except call and threaten.

No. I also asked for one from them today and she said they sent one in September. I told her I didnt get it and to send me something. She said they can't do that. Only email or fax.

Paul is right of course. If it would ever come to a court date (which I highly doubt), all you would need to do is take in a copy of your payday loan laws and submit it as evidence, case closed. Besides, the FDCPA (Fair Debt Collection Practices Act) has specific protocol that a collection agency must follow, and obviously this collection agency is not in compliance with the law. Please take Pauls advice and file complaints against this collection agency, you can easily do so online, just google the agencies he mentioned above and file those complaints!
