sandi, okay, don't get discouraged. I'm telling you now, BIG is going to hound the hell out of you. It's the overseas ones that hound you with telephone calls. And, yes, they will tell you to give them $1000 to "settle" your $200 loan. Blow them off. Yes, the phone calls are annoying. But they will eventually stop calling. If you don't take their calls, they'll move on to someone else. It may take them awhile, but they will. I'm sorry they're harrassing you, but I swear, it's the most illegal ones that harrass the most. 500FastCash may or may not eventually contact you. If they do, it will most likely be via email. If you don't hear from them, enjoy it. But then don't be surprised when they attack one day. But, like I said, they're usually by email. BIG - hmmmmmm - if there was a way to get rid of their calls. But I don't think there is except to not take them.
Thanks cannr!
maybe I will get call rejection too, and update whatever numbers they decide to use!
Yes, I was very happy to meet with the bank mgr.....very helpful indeed. He said unfortunately, he's seen this happening more and more. He was also very happy as he said the corporate office will be, as I gave him the name of the companies, along with the names of the dba's they also use! I WAS prepared, thanks to all of you! Mentioned this website and how there are so many people being ripped off daily but how this community comes together to help!
He said even though Colorado laws state that to close an account before debits hit, in this case it is NOT considered fraud by me, because it is an action of fraud by these companies doing business illegally!!
As far as all the bills I have and past due, I have been making alot of calls to make arrangements with them and telling them my situation and everyone has been cooperative.
I will be calling CashNet sometime next week, because there is still too many other issues to take care of first. I still have to file all my complaints to the investigative agencies.
So, I will continue to hang in there and take one day at a time. At least I know there is light at the end of this long tunnel!
Have a good night cannr and YOU take care of yourself!
cannr--thanks again!
ughh...I always do that....I log out when I think I'm done....then I go back and post something and then when it does post, I notice I didn't log in!!! ughh!!
oh well...
Happy Trails...to you... :)
Sandy - I personally think you should pay back the principle amo
Sandy - I personally think you should pay back the principle amount that you borrowed. But legally that may be a different matter. I would contact your state's banking dept and see what they say. In some states they will say that since the loan is illegal, the company isn't entitled to collect anything. I just think it's the morally right thing to do to pay back the principle amount.
If you do decide to pay them back the prinicple. it doesn't have to be now. Don't send them a cent until you can really afford to. Don't listen to their threats and lies. If you pay them, do it on your terms, not theirs.
Sandi, I am so sorry that I did not get back to you with that in
Sandi, I am so sorry that I did not get back to you with that info. My office is in the process of moving and our computers are unhooked and we are using a computer lab! Were you able to get the information you needed? I should have my computer back Friday or Saturday....I am sorry, I feel so bad. All my info is on my work computer. I agree with goudah. Pay back the principle when you can. If you don't have it now, don't pay it. Pay it when you have the money and don't let them scare you. Again I am so sorry. I have been scarce around here because of the things going on here in the office. :)
Thanks Sass, cannr & goudah! ...again!
Well, I've got to give you guys "angel" awards, as you guys ae surely taking time, with EVERYTHING you do to help out all the people that keep coming in and are in the same boat. Whew! Here I thought I was the only one in a pickle! ha!
Update: 500FastCash since Sunday hasn't responded to by email and letter sent.
BIG Ltd. hasn't bugged me with one call, in two days!
As you all have said they may at another time. I am prepared, however, my phone now has called i.d., and then I really did get call rejection, where you can put in the numbers of unwanted calls, and when they call, they hear a message saying you are not accepting calls.....cool thing, huh?
But, my problem lies with the "right & wrong" of it all.
I will possibly (just can't decide) pay them the principal anyhow, at some point in time, as you say, just for general principle. It certainly can't be now. But then, wouldn't that be still giving them MORE money to operate their illegal businesses?? I so struggle with whether to pay them or not....
It would be related to buying drugs, telling them I'll pay you later, use the drugs, then tell the seller, well, gee, I don't have all the money to give you, I'll just give you some. So you give him some money which will support his drug habit and his drug operations continue. So I don't support anything illegal.
I am willing to pay anyone (storefronts & Cash Net) who are LEGAL, as I did business with them and now they are working out a payment arrangement. I have always paid anyone I have borrowed money from, pdl or family or friend. This country has had many great people with great work ethics and why should we continue to let these people who are from another country try to ruin our American decency & pride, etc. by paying them even the principle!
Anyway.... I still have to write the complaints to AG, FTC, & BBB.
The bank gave me some great information that I want to share. It is a VERY good idea to have two separate checking accounts. One where you keep your money for fixed monthly expenses and the other for buying online, etc., so in case someone tries to attack your account, they wouldn't be attacking the most important money you need to live on!!
Until the next time.....
Happy Trails :)
sandi
sandi, thanks for the update! You're doing great! As far as paying these people, it's a big decision. Some people say don't pay at all, as it was an illegal transaction. Some people say pay the principle, as you used the funds. It's like Anthony says - moral/legal. Morally, you should pay the principle. Legally, you don't have to. He's a hoot! I love him! But what it comes down to is your decision. But you are now in a position that if you decide to pay the principle on your loans, you can do it on your terms. No more debiting your account and leaving you dry. No more "fees" and "charges". You're on your way, my friend!! :D
you betcha, cannr, I am on my way out! I am not bound by the ch
you betcha, cannr, I am on my way out! I am not bound by the chains, just a small links yet to work out, but I'm slowly getting there! :D
I hope CashNet will do me good, when I call them to settle and make payment arrangements.
yeah, legal, moral, legal, moral....hmmmm it's a hard decision...hmmmmmm.....
later...
BIG started calling me a couple weeks ago about a loan taken in
BIG started calling me a couple weeks ago about a loan taken in April. Their threats have consistently escalated from being turned over to a "supervisor" to now "Investigations/Legal Team." At each interaction I have spoken very calmly to them even when they raise their voice. This apparently makes them even more upset and it doesn't help when I ask them why they are angry!! I have now been labeled a game-player because I simply asked a supervisor if he was calling me a liar when he doubted my sincerity. :) The last person that I spoke had the sound of defeat in his voice and he threatened to send "representatives" to my job this past Monday before 11am. To my surprise it is now Wednesday and no one has shown up!! I do want to say thanks for all of the advice you have given to me through others!! I have been very confident while speaking with BIG representatives but at times I do get shaky at the thought they might call others at my company. However, reading the posts on this forum are calming and remind me that I????????m not the only one being harassed by these people. I have had an account go into collections before ???????? BIG is in serious need of an expos???? by some news organization. Too bad they????????re all in Chicago!!!
