One Click Cash (OCC) finally responded to my BBB complaint I made on 10/8/08. They are offering to settle for $140 which is what the actual loan balance is if I pay by moneygram by 10/31/08. If I do not pay by then it will be $355.

My question is, I also made a complaint with the Nebraska Department of Banking and Finance and I will also make a complaint with the FTC regarding them issuing pdl's to residents of Maryland illegally. Should I wait to hear a response from them, or just go and settle the account?

if that is what you actually owe then settle.they are part of MTE and i can tell they fought you all the way,but i would pay it and make sure you get the PIF.

That's the thing. I have another BBB complaint out against MTE financial for Quickest Cash Advance. I paid them $280 for a $300 loan and therefore only owe them $20. They are trying to settle for $200 which is totally unacceptable. They responded to the BBB complaint today saying that since I didn't settle for their $200 offer they will now be referring my account to an outside collection agency for recovery of the full balance wihich is I think $260 I think.

What should I do about them?

if you haven't filed AG complaints against this one pdl i would do it.MTE doesn't have a leg to stand on.if they don't want the 20.00 it takes then they are SOL and i don't mean statute of limitations.any CA they will employ will be as illegal as they are.

Ok. I will file my complaint with the MD AG office. I did respond to them via the BBB saying to provide their license with the State of MD and the state of Oklahoma and to make sure they state what they say my balance is and what the settlement is. They sent all that info to me in an email and just told the BBB in their rebuttal that they had already sent me a settlement offer making sure they never included any of that in their response to the BBB.

I also asked One Click Cash for their license information as well. I will print all this information out and send to the AG's office.

Thanks!

I just received the following response from the BBB and then another email from the BBB telling me that my case was closed.
"This dept does not answer any legal questions, this is not the forum for that. If she wants to retain her own atty, or write ot our legal dept at the same address listed on this site, she may do that. This woman received $200.00 at her request, we are assuming she needed it, and was able to use this legal tender where she needed it. We have waived all fees, and expect this customer to do the "responsible" thing, and pay back money she received. Any other issues do not deflect from this customer refusing to pay back money given to her, any other complaint will be informed of this refusal in light of our offer to waive all fees. This account will continue in collections for the full amount now due."

Yesterday I sent them a rebuttal telling them before I accept their offer to provide me their license number with the State of Nebraska and the State of Maryland stating that they are legally licensed to lend in both states. The above is what they responded back with today.

What should I do now? I never said I wouldn't pay I just asked for the license number. And when they stated that "This dept does not answer any legal questions, this is not the forum for that." The BBB is not a forum, so what are they talking about?
