Ok, the first company I am going into battle with is Oneclickcash.

I have calculated that I have paid them $650 on a $400 loan. I want them to mark my account paid in full. Should I send an e-mail stating, in summary:

You’re company is illegally lending money in my state of residence. To avoid me filing complaints with my state's Attorney General, please mark my account as Paid in Full as I have paid you over $650 for a $400 loan.”

Any advice would be appreciated.

What can I expect to hear from them after this?

A little more info please...are they an internet pdl?? Did you check your state laws to see what was allowed? If they are debting from your bank account you will also have to include a cease and desist letter. At the beginning of this forum at the very top is a list of thing you should look at before closing your account and writing the pdl. Please take a look at it and come back with any questions you might have...and good luck!!

I wouldn't word things that way either . . . . You don't want to be accused of extortion. It's never a good idea to say "If you don't do what i want, I will turn you in." You should be filing complaints anyways, regarless of the level of cooperation the pdl gives. If everyone didn't file because they got what they wanted, then the state's ag's wouldn't know there was a problem that needs fixing.

I'm not saying you will be accused of extortion, but it's always a good idea to not even go anywhere near it . . . . .

I have actually - But not with this company and uder different circumstances. But I have gotten a PIF with just a phone call to the right person. I didn't even have to ask, I called them on a major law they were breaking (requring me to pay with a checking account) and they offered to mark me PIF for "the mistake".

Goudah is right, until you default on the loan, they are not going to even acknowledge there is a problem. Unless you close the acct and have the payment returned "acct closed", you will not hear from them. I closed my account, several payts have been returned and I still have not heard from them yet. You are leaving yourself wide open as they can debit your account for any amount they choose. I have filed complaints the my AG and the consumer affairs dept. Good luck!

jenn, One Click Cash is MTE. Please read through the posts on the forum regarding One Click Cash and MTE Financial. You will find out a lot. Priority number one - get rid of your bank account that they have the information on.

They have not contacted me yet. and its been about a month since my default. The only difference here is they have no means to get it from me because I immediately closed my account before they overdrew it. I had paid over $300 in finance charges for a 350 loan, so If I owe them anything - it can't be much. I'll keep you posted. My first letter was just a revocation of ACH debits. I don't send the "rougher" letter regarding them being illegal in NYS until they come back threatening legal action, etc. I have loans with One Click,l ameriloan & United Cash Loans and MTE financial and I've only heard from MTE finaicial so far. I believe all of them are dbas of MTE. Somebody correct me if I am wrong. Thanks

Oh no, ny, they are ALL MTE Financial - my worst nightmare. You do not need to be corrected! MTE will not acknowledge that they are indeed all the d/b/a's; however, yes, they are. You have to handle each one separately. MTE is Satan.
