I have online pdl online with Fireside Cash and CP investors LLC and 500 Fast cash and Mountain top services and was wondering if they were legal in wisconsin. Any info would be appreciated!

No they are not being nice! You don't owe them anything else, and they are asking for more money, How is that trying to work with you? How much originally borrowed from them and how much have you paid to date? We have already determined from above that you paid them over the principal borrowed, so if that is the case they owe you a refund, plain and simple.

If you had followed all of the steps in the link on how to deal with - the first step is to secure your bank account be closing the old one and opening a new one not linked to the old one. Which if you have not done, I would still recommend doing!! they more than likely have been stopped from debiting your account, this is why they switched to debit card payments, which still allows them access to your bank account, but If they have your bank account info - nothing is keeping them from trying to debt your account if they can figure out a way... did you send them the letters revoking their ACH authorization - these can be sent via email? And give copies to your bank?

While the advise given is correct, it is not complete.. Yes, they are illegal, unlicensed to lend in your state. Yes, you should only repay principal borrowed. & Yes, you should shut down the old account and open a new one not linked in any way to the old. I would advise following the link below in my signature on how to deal with unlicensed illegal lenders , all the steps are outlined in this. You will also want to send them letters revoking ACH authorization and wage assignments you may have signed. If you have any other questions please ask.

Yeah...all the above mentioned lenders are illegal in your state. You owe them nothing more than the principal balance. No interest, no fees. Simply close down your old bank account and open a new one to stop debiting money from your account.

HelpinAZ is spot on - follow all the steps. You can go ahead and request the refund of overpayment of principal - I would. You most likely won't get it but it never hurts to ask. I know there are instances of people on the boards getting a refund from some lenders. Good luck!

i got a call from 500 Fast Cash today trying to collect on the $390 that they say I owe them. I have paid the principle and then some. I asked them if they were legal to operate in Wisconsin and the lady responded with that their tribal law dont apply to wisconsin law and only federal law. and that they are a federal recognized tribe. Any input or suggestions on how to deal with them?

First off stay off the phone with them, they will spout all kinds of nonsense, If they turn over to collection - then you will send a C&D letter. Online lenders must be licensed in Wisconsin and they know it.. If you have already secured your bank account and sent them the letter revoking ACH and asking for your refund of overpayment. You are done.. Just ignore them.

they have my bank info. but they no longer can ACH out of my checking account because they switched to debit card payments..so i havent paid them since they switched from ACH payments to credit/debit card payments. i have no credit or debit card. They ask if i can get someone else's credit/debit card to pay for it..of course i said no. And they are being awfully nice and not charging me 2 months of back interest and they are "trying to work with me".

So i get a call tonight from someone who barely speaks english saying there is a lawsuit against me from Americash...I did have a loan with them months ago and did pay it off in full on my own. These same people called me when I had the loan out with Americash with the same threats. I called Americash the first time and they told me to just ignore them. I told the guy that they called me a few months ago with the same scam and hung up. He then calls back right away and says I'm going to get arrested at work tomorrow. Which I know is bullcrap. The number they call from is 757-350-2110
