Can someone tell me if Dollar Flash is legal in Louisiana. I read on here that they were illegal in the state of Louisiana. I send them an email because I borrowed 200.00 July 1, 2012. They have been withdrawing 120.00 from my account since July 31, 2012. I sent them a letter telling them not to try to withdraw anything more from my account. I'm only obligated to pay them the original amount borrowed with no interest, and that I"m due a refund of 400.00. This was their response:

There is some one reviewing your account. If you go to the web site you will see that we are lic. when i hear something different i will contact you back to give you the results our number here is 866-435-0347.

What should I do?

Dollar Flash is an illegal lender, possibly offshore but I cannot confirm right now. You need to begin by revoking ACH in writing. Send a copy to your bank and another to the lender. That would stop them from debiting your account. As for the refund, you might or might not see it again. Your best bet would be to pursue this matter persistently and see where that takes you. Also remember to file complaints with the AG and the FTC.

Dollar Flash is an illegal lender. You owe principal only. Close down your old bank account and open a new one to stop unauthorized withdrawal. You can ask them for a refund, but it depends on their discretion whether or not to return back your money.
