I got a call from a courier who claimed they had legal documents for me to sign and wanted to know when I would be available in a day. I of course had no idea what this was about, so they gave me a phone number and case number. The people who answered said they purchased CashNet USA, and that I never paid my loan back. I stated that I thought I did, but they told me I owed $410 on a $250 loan. They had almost ALL of my personal info, such as SS# and address. I did take out this loan a year and a half ago, but I believe I paid this. Unfortunately I have no way of checking due to that original bank account being closed. So since I was scared to death of having to go to court and I was at work at that moment, I set up 4 payments with my debit card to take care of this. The guy on the other end of the line made it seem like any payment arrangements was a big deal and that it may not be approved by his bosses, but he then said he had to pull some major strings to get it approved. As if he was doing me a favor....Did I just get scammed??? I have read a lot of posts on here dealing with a similar issue and am now feeling stupid for agreeing to anything. Also, I live in Louisiana. Thank you for any help or advice.

Yeah, you got scammed plus whoever was calling you broke the law BIG TIME!! CALL YOUR BANK AND CANCEL YOUR DEBIT CARD NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the name of the Company is Delaware Holdings, I did some research on them and they appear to be legit...that's crazy that these scams are going this far, I just do not want to have any sort of civil battle or go to court. Would they really go after me?

I am deactivating my card this morning. Thank you so much for the advice.

Just got ANOTHER call!!!! This time the number they refered me to was Kirkland Management. This was a claim that I never paid back my loan with Go Cash. As per a post from this site, I sent Go Cash the following well over a year ago:

"It has come to my attention that payday lenders must be licensed by the state of Louisiana in order to offer loans to its residents. Since your company has no license in my state, the loan contract I have with you is not valid. Although I am not legally required to do so, I am willing to repay the principal balance of this loan. To date, I received a deposit of $500 on October 26, 2011, and have had 4 bi-weekly withdrawals of $120 and debited from my account. I have also had one withdrawal of $170 that included a principal payment of $50 debited from my account. This results in an overpayment of $270."

I never heard from them again. This is getting ridiculous.

report all that call, and then ignore them.nobody who calls on this is legit.btw the scammer is most likely using a legit businesses name as nothing they did was legit.

I thought this fit into this thread topic, so I just added it on...

Thank you everyone in this forum for helping get out the PDL cycle a year ago....I truly appreciate all of the help.
After hearing crickets from those companies for almost a year, I just started receiving phone calls from a process server named Brian McKenna this week who was supposed to serve me days ago (still waiting on that lol). The calls don't bother me because I ignore them but now I am getting calls at work as are some of my coworkers and that I don't appreciate. Is there anything I can do to stop these calls? Should I call the number he has left and tell them to take a hike?
Thanks,
Porscha

you can call him and let him have it.a friend of mine did that.they said this exactly:

next time you call,or anybody else me and that person are reporting you to our local police.

the calls stopped shortly after that.actually one more call, and they did report it as they promised they would.

again that call that got you to agree broke the law hand over fist.next time they call use the phrase above in my post, and follow through.have others do the same.a scamming pile of crap is all this is,and you need to stop talking to them,or giving any messages credence.

Hello, I just wanted to know how this whole thing turned out for you. I got a call from a courier yesterday that she is suppose to deliver the papers tomorrow Sept 19. I have been on the phone with Delaware Holdings and they will not give me a chance to research the situation they said it is too late. The past CA that tried to claim this debt never responded to my validation and 3 months after here comes Delaware Holdings. I am going thru postpartum and it would be great to have a bit of piece of mind right now. My heart is beating so fast I don't know what to do. Apparently it is too late now since the courier will be here tomorrow.

a courier really!they will call again to offer you"one last chance"meaning they have you scared which you shouldn't be,and now they will call today to totally hook you.so calm down and spend that energy on your bundle of joy.report them to your police, and when they call today tell them they will be burning in hell before you think about paying a voice over the phone.do this after you speak with your local police, and inform this bottomfeeding pile of shit that you did that prior to telling them to burn in hell.just know that the threats were empty, and the humanoid broke the law hand over fist as nobody calls ahead in this regard EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!now take care of that baby.

Calm down! No courier is coming to see you. It is a bunch of BS. Debts are civil, not criminal. Nothing is going to happen to you. Simply ignore!!

THANK YOU sooo much for your help. I tried controlling myself but for those of you going through postpartum it is not easy. I talked to State Attorney General Office this morning and told me the same as you guys posted here. For one, they already broke the law by calling my spouse and giving me a call telling me they are coming to my house. But they are trying to collect a debt that was past the SOL. They had transferred me to the bank department and he said totally scam. No courier will call you tell you they are coming. If you are being served, that courier will just drop the papers to your house no signature or id required (which I was informed by that lady that I have to have it). I just printed out the complaint form that the State emailed me regarding this matter. Thank God for you guys taking your time with this post and I am also doing the same because It is just horrible for people to go through this kind of situation. Don't get me wrong. If it was my debt I will pay it. All I really wanted was a proper document you telling me that you have the right to collect this debt which was never provided.

The Company is Delaware Holdings Group
877 957 8954 (Michael Statton, Michael somebody and I didn't understand the other guy's name)
877 957 8955 (from what others say, same company)
877 957 6022 (from their website delawareholdingsgroup.com - which may I add that my 6 year old could've done a better website that what they have that looked like took 5 min).

The lady that called (courier) is Holly Clark she called from an unknown or block number.

I hope this helps you guys and again...GREATLY APPRECIATE ALL OF YOU. Now dancing and singing abcs with my newborn and 2 years old instead of frowning.
