I had a loan with Plain Green and thanks to this site I discovered it was illegal in my state. (Ohio) I sent them a letter and explained to them that I wanted my account settled in full and that the $600 I overpaid to be refunded to me due to the fact they were illegal. I received a response and they said my loan is considered paid in full but there was no mention of a refund. Do I keep asking them for the refund or do I just walk away with a very expensive lesson learned?

The best I got so far is that I asked United Cash to apply all the extra interested I had paid over the last 3 years for various reloans to the balance remaining on my current loan and they didn't say yes but when I go to my account it now says that I don't owe anything and that no more payments are due. Plain Green was surprisingly easy to work with, I still owe $169 and they said I could make a lump sum payment, I said so 2 payments, they said ok, thanks.

Print that PIF and put in safe place for future reference if needed. Depending on how aggressive you want to be, you can send refund requests as much as you want. You may get lucky, but not sure.
