HI-I have gotten into the payday loan trap and am trying to climb out slowly! What a mess~ I currently have only one major pain-Cashtransfercenters-I see they are illegal-I still owe them $700 principle and $950 total. I did put a stop on my checking account. Any ideas on how to deal with them?? Thanks so much!! I love this site!1

Welcome to the forum, I think the best thing for you to do is to put cash transfer center or northway in the search engine, when I did that a lot of posts came up with people that are or have dealt with this company, hope this helps.

I wish you luck getting out of this mess, keep your chin up, you are in the right place to get the advice and guidance that you need to get through this. Please keep the forum updated. Here are the searches that I came up with here.

Hi-thanks so much for your advice!! I am wondering I still owe them $750 principle and $975 total. I am currently in default by a week. I have froze them at my bank. I am just wondering if they are illegal should I pay them back? I have already paid them about $2000 in the past 6 month period in interest, which was illegal in my state. Any advice would be Greatly appreciated!!

Hi-I felt that way myself! I am just wondering what type of letter I should send to them? I know I need to send a letter revoking the wage assinment. I am just wondering what other type of letter I should send. I know there are a lot of templates on this site. Are there any you would suggest? Thanks a ton!! This site has been my hope through this PDL mess!! I have already learned so much, yet I still feel swamped!

I will post a letter that many of us have used. You will need to fix it up for your specific needs. Is your account closed. dont send anything until your account is safe. They go under a lot of names , so you can not just stop payment. they will get thru and take your money. The account needs to be closed/

Did you end up having to pay back any or all of the loan/ Also, I have renewed this loan many times. Therefore, my interest paid has been huge! Once your AG got involved did they mark it PIF?

How long and aggressive were they with calling you at work!! Did they talk to your boss etc? That could really cause a headache at work!! Thanks so much for all of your help! It is just nice to know there are others who have lived through this and survived in one piece!! It is sad how they thrive on people while they are down! It is so hard to get free of their trap!

They called me for about 2-3 weeks. They didn't call my boss but they did call my HR department. Make sure you contact your HR department and revoke the wage assignment and tell HR not to give anyone any info on you because they really grilled my HR department. I am glad that I can help. This company really needs to be stopped and they definitely take advantage of people's hardships.

I too have dealt with Cash Transfer Centers recently. Unsure of what is going to happen. I went into default 1/31/08. Ended up closing the bank account the money was to be withdrawn from in an effort to keep my paycheck. I started getting calls from 'Ty' beginning 2/4/08 through 2/7/08. Last night I faxed a wage revocation twice to their fax # (866-809-4069) and included the fact that I have already contacted the AG, BBB, FTC, that their 'business' is not licensed in Virginia, that regardless of where they are located that they must follow the laws governing the receiver of services they provide and that they are in clear violation of all Virginia's laws regulating payday lending. I also demanded that they not contact me at work, nor call my employer/family/friends, etc. I emailed that same letter about 10 times to their email address too. I checked the website this morning to verify that they received the letters, which they did, and made a screen print of the page showing proof of receipt because I had a funny feeling. Anywhooo, tried to log into the website once I got home from work this evening, and low and behold, it stated that I am not allowed on their site. Haven't gotten a call from them either today.

They called my direct line at work and also my cell number and left messages. They did that for 4 days straight, which was more than enough. They also emailed the standard employment verification to my HR department and to me. That's when I sent the letter revoking the wage assignment.

I don't know if they've written me off or what - we'll see. Since then, I haven't had any calls from them whatsoever because I demanded that they not call my job, family and/or friends, and that all correspondence be in writing so I could keep a paper trail.

I just filed the complaint with the AG of my state. Was your state AG helpful at all? Also, which address did you use when sending them a revoking letter? It is confusing how many addresses this company uses! I added up just how much I have spent on fees interest since July and I want to cry-$2111 in 7 monthes and many of the loans were only $500! It is just such a trap!

amber, what address did you give the AG when filing the complaint? You can email/fax/mail certified the letter revoking wage assignment. But did you give the AG an address?

Hi Whiterock. A wage assignment is a voluntary agreement you signed when you got the loan from these sleezballs. They will send it to your HR department to try to get HR to dock your pay and send it to them. These are completely voluntary and you need to revoke it. Send a letter stating you revoke any wage assignments you may have signed. Send a copy to your HR dept. A good time to file the AG complaint is right now. If you need more info on a wage assignement letter pm volleyballmom, she has one for sure. Good luck to you!

These people are the lowest of the low!! (oh wait, that's Cash Today4U!!) but seriously, you need to know the following: their DBA's are Cashtransfer Centers, Northway Debit and Sonic Payday. They are all one and the same. So when you revoke your wage assignment letters to payroll and to them, I would put all three company names on them. I wouldn't put it past these slimeballs to try and do it using another DBA, so it's important to use all three names. And if you block them from your checking account, make sure you use all three names.

purple, you need to do a letter revoking wage assignment to Cash Transfer Centers now. They will not hesitate to send a wage assignment to your employer once they know they cannot get money from your account. Do this now. Simply type up a letter to them stating:

I hereby revoke any wage assignment I have signed with your company, your partners, or any affiliates.

Sign it, email it, fax it, mail it certified return receipt. Keep a copy for yourself. Give a copy to your HR person. You may need to "educate" your HR person that wage assignments are totally voluntary and do not have to be honored. Also, you may want to "educate" them that this company is not licensed/legal to do business. Who are your other pdls? We can help you.

Is that all i need to say in a letter to CTC: I hereby revoke any wage assignment I have signed with your company, your partners, or any affiliates.

Do I need to send it to my HR payroll company as well? also, I want to say something to CTC that not to call my work, family and that i prefer communications by email or mail. Should that be a separate letter? Also, i have attorney friend that says just to fax them a letter stating i have a lawyer and here is his number. It's all so confusing.. Here are all of my other pdl's
Cash Transfer Center
Cashnetusa
Eastside Lenders
GFILS
Interim
MTE
Impactsolutions
Impactcashusa
Payday
Cash Supply
Net Cash
ACH Loan
AIP
Think Cash
E-Payday-Loan.com
Cash Advance Network
WWC - World Wide Cash

Thanks so much for all of your help......I hope one day when i get out of this mess, I will return the favor to others in this situation.

purple, first off, yes, that will be enough for a start. This will at least ward off the dreaded wage assignment that they're going to send. And, yes, give a copy to your HR person. Keep a copy for yourself. This way they will see that you have already revoked it (even though they do not have to honor it anyway and the fact that this is an unlicensed/illegal company). But for right now, get at least that letter out before they send the wage assignment to your employer. We do have a letter you can send to all your pdls - which the revoke of wage assignment is included - but I want you to get that out now. I believe it beating them to the punch. The letter that you can use covers not calling you, revoking wage assignement, revoke authorization to debit, etc... It covers everything. But I just want you to send that one now (yes, just short and sweet and that's it). You have a lot of pdls, which you've listed out, which is great. Your bank account is already closed. Good job. That's the first step and you've already taken it. I can get you the letter to use for your pdls. Can you do me a favor though? Can you please tell us how much you have borrowed from each one (principle amount only), how much you have paid back (total to date) and also what state you reside in. We can check your state pdl law and see what's going on and we can check to see if any of these are unlicensed/illegal. Now, if you would, you can register as a member (you don't have to sign up for anything, just register as a member) and we can then send 'pm' messages to each other. If you can do this, I can send you a letter through pm for you to use for your pdls. In the meantime, could you please list the amounts I requested? And your state? Then we can get the ball rolling and get rid of these things! :D

When I got a loan through e-payday, I didn't sign anything. I sent them a copy of a voided personal check, my bank statement, and (I believe) a copy of a check stub. My question is do I need to do a letter revoking a wage assignment?
