I live in PA and took a PDL thru Fleet Marketing. They are deducting by automatic debit thru my bank account twice a month. The fee is $210.00 each transaction. If I don't pay above the fee the principal remains the same. I have only been able to afford to pay above the fee once. I took the loan in Oct. 2010., for $750.00 and to date I have paid $1,115.00. Only $65.00 of that has gone to the principal. I'm drowning here; I can't afford it at all and am I cursed to be in a $420.00 monthly paymnet FOREVER ? I could close my bank account but I don't want to do that. I have had my account for years! Do I have any other recourse ?

Hi!
Welcome to the forums!
I think you can talk to your bank branch manager and put a hard debit check on your account. Check whether or not payday loan is legal in your state. If it is legal, then you should work out an alternative repayment plan with the company. You can even pay them through payday loan consolidation. However, if they're not legal, then you're only required to pay the principal amount.

Just send them a copy of the email that was posted here under "Dealing with Illegal Payday lenders". I did, and I got a letter the other day telling me that they have "elected to consider my outstanding loan paid in full, with no further correspondence from them". I paid them over and above what I borrowed, and I doubt I will ever see a cent of that, but they are gone . . .
Have hope, there is a light at the end of the tunnel . . .
