I've done a lot of researching today trying to get out of this jam that I am in with my payday loans. I ended up not having enough for my last semester of college and was forced to take out several payday loans. My regular student loans have kicked in, combined with these evil interest infested payday loans, and my normal monthly bills and I'm struggling to survive. I'm only about 2 months from starting my post college career job, which will be a substantial increase in income; however, these payday loans are going to sink me before I can get my head above water.

I did some research and found that some payday loan companies might be illegal (especially in Pa, which seems to have very strict rules about this from what I read). I've used some of these places in the past but figured I'd give more details below and see what you feel would be the best route to take.

Current Loans
EXTRACASH/WESTON 8005948504 T13742398
- Loan Amount: $400
- Interest Paid So Far: $240
MycashNow
- Loan Amount: $400
- Interest Paid So Far:
Pack Mgmt/B&L 8669436713
- Loan Amount: $200
- Interest Paid So Far: $300
Ameriloan
- Loan Amount: $300
- Interest Paid So Far: $450 :(
- Loan Principle Paid Off So Far: $50

I also just got rid of this United Consumer ACHTrans debit I believe that debited my account for close to 5 months. I think it was from EZPayDay as that's the only email i could find every other week that didn't match the payday loans above. All of the places above I've used before and I'm getting killed with these $90 weekly interest rates that I'm getting. Looking for advise without trying to blow up my credit beyond belief. Help???

Payday loans are prohibited in the state of Pennsylvania. Thus, all the payday lenders that you've mentioned here are illegal and don't have the license to operate in your state. You should check out the given page in order to find out what steps you need to take in order to deal with the illegal payday lenders: http://www.debtconsolidationcare.com/paydayloan/illegal-pdl-dealings.html .

I understand the first part you said about closing my bank account. From what I read on this forum I should go and request that I be given a new account number/checking account number and close the old one. Is this correct?

The second part I really don't understand about doing an ACH block and revoking a voluntary wage assignments & giving a copy to the payroll department. I really don't know what this means fully could you explain a bit more?

Also, the link provided gives a sample template and so forth. Do I need to send this as an email, certified, letter, fax or what exactly? And finally how can I tell if they are a licensed in another state and if so, where?

P.S. thanks for the help so far (This is a very confusing stressful topic)

Yes close the accounts I can say Ameriloan is hell to deal with they will harass you by phone and email they will feed you some ole tribal land stuff. I was told to stand my ground and I did, I refuse to send them another red cent! Most of the lenders once they found out I am on to them and I filed my complaints they left me alone but there are a few that are just off the hook!

What kind of backlash can I expect from Ameriloan? My biggest fear is relentless calls to my work place. I can always ignore my cell being called nonstop or my relatives but my work place is the one option I can't have them calling a lot.

I still need this part answered:

In your letter you need to state that you revoke ACH permission you may have given and that you revoke any voluntary wage assignment you may have signed. You will need to give a copy of each of your letters/emails to your bank (when you close the accounts) AND to your HR/payroll department at work. This is just showing them that you've taken away the permission you originally gave. That way, if they try to put through an ACH (auto withdrawal) to your account, your bank knows that you've not authorized it. Same with if they try to put through a wage assignment with your employer. Your employer should not honor it because you've taken away the permission. Does that help?
