are these PDL's legal in RI

Hi, can someone tell me if these PDL"S are legal in Rhode Island? I have loans with all 5 companies but have paid over the principal amount and need help, thanks.

Nope..none of them legal. Follow the link in my signature line for full information on how to deal with them. You owe principal only...no interest and no fees.

All of the above mentioned pdl companies are illegal in your state. You owe them nothing more than the principal balance. No interest, no fees. As you have already overpaid them, so ask them for the refund. Close down your old bank account and open a new one.

Hi, thanks for the reply everyone. I tried closing my back account and they will not let me. Bank is stating it will take 60 days to close!
They will keep charging me in the mean time.

You want to talk to a manager for sure - they can put your account on hard block - deposit only if need be!! You are revoking ACH authorization they have to honor, under Fed Reg E. Why are they saying it takes 60 days - it may be that they are putting on hard block due to account being compromised.. but they can't allow charges that you are not authorizing to go through in the mean time.. keep us posted on what the bank says. you will want to provide them copies of your ACH revocation letters.
