Hello. I am among the many here who took out a $2,600 installment loan with Western Sky ($2,575 after the fee was taken out). Based on other posts I double checked and the paperwork was originated by WS ("Lender: Western Sky Financial, LLC) and then three days later was in Cash Call's hands. Here is the verbiage from the email I received:

"Please be advised that your loan has been sold to WS Funding, LLC. This letter is your official notice of the loan sale and the transfer of loan servicing. Effective today, your loan is now owned by WS Funding, LLC and will be serviced by a company called CashCall."

I have made three payments to Cash Call ($253, $295, $295) and I'm currently coming up on three payments past due. I have gotten several messages from a company collecting on Cash Call's behalf called Delbert Services Corporation....I'd rather not have to go to court to deal with this, but Cash Call has thus far not been willing to work with me.

I'm a resident of RI. Is this loan's paperwork legit or can it be challenged based on the "tribal" designation?

As always, thank you for what you're doing here, everyone!

Both Western Sky and Cash Call are illegal lender. You owe principal only. You need not to pay any interest or fees. Close down your bank account and open a new one. Ask them for a refund if you have overpaid them. Go through this page to know about how to deal with illegal lenders: http://www.debtconsolidationcare.com/paydayloan/dealingwith-illegallenders.html

Correction: CashCall is NOT an illegal lender. WS is the illegal lender here and since the loan was originated by said illegal lender, the loan contract is null and void under the laws of RI.

What you need to do is tell CashCall to bug off for the time if they ever want to see a dime. Then repay them on your own terms and time. And yes, you only owe the principal.
