Hi, I just got a nasty phone call from Paycheck today stating that they will send me to collections and if I don't pay up that they will eventually sue me. I took out a loan for $400 and was being debited $120 every paycheck to pay the loan. My husband got laid off, and we were having a hard time paying this loan back. I have paid a total of $480 and they want me to pay an additional $520 in order to satisfy the account as paid in full. I live in Washington State. Can they sue me and garnish my check? I'm really worried. I've tried telling them that I can send them more money but not until next month and they are calling me at work like every other day.

paycheck today is an illegal internet pdl.you owe nothing more.furthermore, they can't garnish without a court order.being illegal i hardly think they can successfully sue.i wouldn't speak to them again, and i would file an AG complaint against them.

Thank you so much, that eases my mind a bit. So I shouldn't call them back or answer their emails then? When I do hear from their collection agency what should I say? I already read some of the posts in this forum talking about requesting a Debt Validation letter from them. I know that some of these collection agencies can get pretty nasty from what I have read. I don't like dealing with these people and have never been talked to so rudely before. It's not like I didn't pay them anything and if I give them what they are asking I would have paid them $1000 for a $400 loan. If they do put a judgement against me that means that they would have to take me to court in the State of Washington where I live right? Thanks again for your advice.

right.they would have to sue in your town, county, bourough.i wouldn't respond.you have overpaid them by 80.00.file the AG complaint.all they will do is threaten and harrass.you don't need that.you could respond to one e-mail stating that you know they are illegal in WA,and you have paid the principle back, and will file AG complaints if they persist.
