I had a payday loan from Paychecktoday.com. I sent them a letter revoking ACH withdrawl which they got because they cut off my online account access immediately. I also sent them a copy of a Desist and Refrain order that the CA Dept of Corporations issued 6/27/08. ( I was unaware of this when I got the loan.) I live in California, my original loan amount was $300. I have paid then $270 to date. When I tried calling them to speak to them about settling on this account (I am willing to pay the original $300 since I did borrow it) the manager, Antoinette, yelled at me and hung up on me twice. when i called again and spoke to someone else, they said she is the manager and their is nothing they can do. I signed the paperwork and I was liable for the $390 balance. any suggestions on how to handle them?

Do you have their mailing address! If so send them a money order

Do you have their mailing address! If so send them a money order that says in the subject line Settles Account in Full! If they cash it you are done! Make sure it is an easy to track money order!

I do not have their address. Does anyone have it. What if they don't cash the money order? I am also concerned about their lack of response (other than yelling at me).
Has anyone ever filed a formal complaint against them? I want to file a complaint with the Dept of Corporations but I am not sure if this is a waste of time or if they will actually follow up on it.

Department of Corporations is pretty aggressive, but they did just get smacked across the nose going after a different lender which, like Paycheck Today, claims to be affiliated with an Indian Tribe. Not sure if they'll pursue it, but it's definitely worth a try.

Dept of Corporations has a Desist and Refrain order against this

Dept of Corporations has a Desist and Refrain order against this company as of June 27, 2008. Paychecktoday shouldn't have even been lending in CA. wish I would have known this sooner. Has anyone out there had ANY sucess with them? Did you get you ACH revoked? If you were sucessful with them, I would love to know what you did.
I would appreciate any help with this as this is completely stressing me out

i had to freeze my account. i'm sure they continued to try and hit it but they didnt get anything. they eventually sent it to a third party collection agency, account recieveable managment of florida, aka arm of florida. i have been fighting with arm and finally got them to honor my c&d letter. so far its been quiet. when i did call paycheck today to try and work somthing out the beast told me i was completly redicoulous and yelled at me and told me i was unbelieveable. so needless to say i'm just letting things cool down for now. i know i need to take care of it and will pay back the principle amount i borrowed, but now its going to be on my terms and not theirs. as far as an addy i sent them a c&d to an address in miami oklahoma, wich was returned, you can email and fax them letters they respond alot quicker.
