i have an old payday loan with payday2go.

a woman from there called me this afternoon and informed me that if i do not give them 300 dollars by october 28th, they are going to issue a court order to my employer demanding that they (my employer) garnish my wages.

my original loan was for 300 dollars. the thing is, before i closed my checking account i had paid them more than 300 dollars just in finance charges alone.

what i would like to know is this: can they issue a court order for the purpose stated above? also, are they even legal?

oh, and i live in maine. the loan was done over the internet.

im running into a similar situation with rapidcash. however, i know that ive paid them four times the original loan amount in the finance charges and im pretty sure that they are not legal in the us.

so please, and information anybody could give me concerning payday2go would be appreciated.

also, the woman i spoke to today from payday2go admitted that she was calling from outside the us, but they have an office in maryland i guess....???

again, thanks.

The attorney generals office in your state can give you any info you need. In the state of Massachusetts payday loans are illegal and I was told from thier office to stop transfer of any funds to them. They have no recourse.
