I had a loan and of course things have become financially challenging for me. They agreed to payments (no set amount) which I've been going in and giving what I can. We are now down to last 80 dollars and they call me saying that I have to pay off, that the amounts I've been paying are unacceptable (they weren't when they took them).

She threatened to send it to corporate. Any other time they call my cell phone, but today she calls my job. Of course I am not going to get into argument at work, but told her to do what she has to. Why is it all of a sudden an issue when you've had plenty of time to say something?

It is surprising that they initially accepted the reduced payments but now they are making issue of that and asking you pay off the debts in full. Do you have anything is writing from the pdl company stating the fact that they have agreed to accept reduced payments? If you have any such document, then things will be easier for you and you can even take legal actions against them.

First, I will tell her not to call you at work as you could lose your job and then there will be no money for payments. Are you talking to the manager of the store or are you talking to just one of the cashiers? If you are talking to the manager, tell her that you will call Corporate yourself and then do it. If you do call Corporate tell them that you are have been making payments and up until now there was no problem. I had a loan with CheckSmart that was in default. The store manager was really being rude to me. So, I called Corporate and they were easier and nicer to deal with.

No there was nothing in writing...just a verbal conversation and receipts from payments made. She is just one of the cashiers in the office I believe - not sure there's a manager. She said something about submitting the check and that it would go to collections..how do you submit a check when the bill has literally been paid off and how do you send it to collections when you've accepted payments up to this point?

I'll contact the corporate office.
