Just when I thought they were gone for good some guy named Sabi called me and after several hang ups finally managed to get to my voice mail. Said I was escalated to the legal dept. Then he called back and I decided to answer. I told him I was not paying him another dime and their was not a thing he could do about it and to crawl back into the cave he came from. He argued with me and got nowhere so he asked if I would like to speak to his supervisor. "OK."
"My name is Nigel can I help you." he sounded just like Sabi.
"Yeah, you can help me by going away." I replied.
"You owe us money, we are not going away"
"I do not owe you anything! I am not paying you so don't waste your time!"
"Yes you do. You are in serious legal trouble."
"Bullsh_t!" I have paid you more than the law allows you to collect."
"You are ruled by the laws of the UK."
"Don't make me laugh."
"How do you plan on taking care of this?" he demanded.
"Like this." Click.
Never heard from them again. That was Friday.
Today I got that stupid email that my payment was returned and perhaps it was a mistake signed by Chris Something the ficticious collection guy.
What a bunch of clowns. Under the rules of the UK. Give me a break!

How can they day you're governed by the laws of the UK when they aren't even licensed in the UK. I'll concede the lenders have an argument when they have a license somewhere and actually make loans from that jurisdiction. (Not necessarily the winning argument, but at least they have one.) But if Route 66 wants me or anyone else to fall under UK law, they darn well better be ready to prove they are following those laws.

And since they can't . . . as the French would say "C'est la vie."

Oh, frogpatch. They are insane. They haven't called me again since they wanted the Money Gram sent to them on my OVERPAID account. Only one call since then asking me where "thier" money was. Gee, must have gotten lost in transit between the US and the UK. Dumb, dumb, dumb. Please tell them to come on over to the states to get this taken care of! LOL!

Yeah - They called me out of the blue about a month ago. Some really nice guy kept telling me he would settle because he "really liked me" and "could tell I was smart" and would give me a deal to only pay $400! Lucky me! Of course, they say I now owe over $1500. Ik ept laughing at the guy and he finally told me that since I couldn't keep my composure that I should sleep on it and call me back in the morning with my answer . . . . Hmmm . . . .

The last time my friend and I heard anything out of them was after about 10 hangups in May. I argued with the ass hat for about 10 minutes with a bunch of prime choice curse words then realized it was not going anywhere. At least we are 2 months free of phone calls so far and counting. If you guys get any calls and feel like bitching them out make sure to send my love to them too.
