can't keep up with payment plan/EPP

GECC/CashExpressDirect is an EPP for $135 every 2 weeks plus the western union fees is right about $150 every 2 weeks.
PayDayOne-did a payment plan of 6 pays every other week of $115 I asked for 8 pays but they said 6 was the most they could do.
I pay one one week the other the next- but I just am not able to keep it up. I am hearing of people here saying they got payments of like $50 a month or so which I would really like.
My husbands days at work keeping getting cut, plus my hours are cut as this is our slow time of year, even without a recession. We are just buried under in medical bills from an accident he was in about 2 years ago that involved multiple surgeries in multiple hospitals/dr's/anethesia etc., which is what got us into this mess in the first place-then I got behind on everything more with paying the pdl's and am wondering if we will ever see the light at the end of the tunnel.
I am thinking of contacting GECC (they are the ones due this week) and telling them I can't keep up with the EPP and see if they will work something else out. Any thoughts on what they will do?

anyone been in this situation? I know others have, just not sure what the outcome was. I am wondering if maybe I can work something out with in house collections, or even if they send it out to collections that might give me a couple of more weeks to get the money together.
A company owes me money for a job I did last fall (I've worked for them before, they always pay slow) and for 2 months they've been saying the check is in the mail-which they are saying again this week, its not much but if it comes this week I can get this EPP paid. If not I don't see anyway I'll be able to do it.

JR - can't hurt to contact them and try to renegotiate the repayment plan...if they won't then ask them what the next step is...if they say it goes to in-house collection, then chances are you can work out a better repayment plan.
As for the company that owes you money, if they are local, tell them to stop payment on the check and you will be in to pick it up in person. 2 months is more than enough time to get paid for work done. If you don't care that you ever work with them again, threaten them with reporting them to the AG's office.

I pulled out my epp contract and it says if I miss a payment they will charge me $30 and excelerate the balance due. So... I don't owe them that much-just more than I have this week! If it buys me a couple of weeks I can probably get the money together.
As far as the company paying me they are out of state, they have always paid slow, but its the lieing about the check being in the mail thats really get me steamed this time.
I am getting so depressed over our financial situation. It seems ever since his accident we can't get back on our feet, which has been almost 3 years. I felt like I was finally able to almost start to see the light at the end of the tunnel only to find out now that the light was not the end of the tunnel but actually the train headed staright for me.

I don't want anyone to think that I'm giving advice because I don't know if I'm right or wrong in how I went about things, but here's my experience.
If I had agreed to pay the legal PDLs the amounts that they wanted for an EEP, I would have been in the same position I was already in..unable to pay the minimum amount. Although the balances would have been going down, I wouldn't have had any money left from my paychecks, thus repeating the cycle of how I got into this mess in the first place.
Basically, I just emailed the companies and explained that I was unable to agree to any certain amount but that I would send the money regularly. And I have been. When they call me, I ignore it bc there is no point in arguing about an EEP when I can't even keep up with that. But then I send them an email letting them know what date I will be mailing out my next payment.
Sometimes my payments have only been $10, but still, the balance is going down slowly but surely. Maybe I'm pressing my luck here, just hoping they won't sue. I don't know. That's why I don't want to offer this as advice because I don't know if there will be any ramifications or not. I figure that as long as I continue to pay, even if it is not on their terms, they will eventually be satisfied that they are paid in full. So take it for what it's worth, but I understand the inability to not be able to afford to pay the EEP.

Thanks for posting this it is very helpful to know your experience. This board is so great in dealing with illegal lenders but there is less info for those of us in these loophole states.
I feel like I am exactly back in the spot I was 2 months ago when I closed my account. Besides the ipdls I am also dealing with store fronts and all the medical bills that started this in the first place.
I am going to send an email to GECC tomorrow letting them know that I fully intend to pay off the loan but am going to be unable to make the next payment. Hopefully that will free up enough cash to continue paying PayDayOne but after looking over my budget for the month I'm not even convinced I can keep that up.

SInce you already have a relationship with them, even though just over the phone, I would make a call. The problem with an email is that there is no dialogue or emotion involved, thus making it too easy to say no. You have the ability to fully explain your situation and proposed resolution if you call.

When you talk with them and if they pressure you for immediate payment or tell you you will be in violation of your EPP, ask them what other options you have. Try to work it out, be polite but don't take any BS from them.
Remember, most important thing is that you have a roof over your head, transportation to work, food in your mouth and gas in the tank...all other unsecured debt can be worked out.
