And what is the procedure with the payroll department and now that I read on closing a bank account who do I talk to with my bank. I currently bank with Citibank, what are their procedures or what do I have to do in order for pdls not to keep taking money from my account. I live in New York so I know they're illegal, but of course I didn't know this till I read the helpful information here. The money they take out from my check is killing me and it makes me angry that knowing that all of it is not even going to pay the amount owed but just to their high interest rates.
I know that we have to take responsibilty for our actions but when you have sharks like these squeezing money from us, what other way is there to make good business with them?
I already paid the principal in one and they keep milking me with the interest.
Can anyone guide me with all of this?

You will need to contact Citibank to see what their procedures are. I told my bank I had unauthorized debits and was advised to close my account. If they will not colse it have them put a hard debit block on it. This means that no ach, debits or checks will go through but deposits will. some banks call this deposit only status. If they do close it be sure the account can not be forced open. As for the letter revoking wage assignment, simply write a letter to each pdl stating I revoke any and all wage assignments I may have signed. And remember to sign it. Mail these to the pdls and give a copy to your payroll department. Close your account before you mail these.

If you put a block on, you will have to physically go into the bank, have the block removed, withdraw money, then have the block reinstated.
It's really best once you have your account blocked/frozen that you open a new account somewhere else for daily use.
