how long will it take the pdl companies to do something like that I've just missed the first payment will they try to get my next check?

When you say you missed the first payment, do you mean they attempted to take the payment from your bank account and you didn't have funds to cover the payment? If so, they will usually send you an email to let you know that the payment failed and for you to contact them with updated bank information so they can process the payment (or other payment arrangements). If you don't contact them or make arrangements to pay, then will proceed with collection action that may include forwarding your account to a collection agency, attempting a wage assignment, as well contacting the references you provided when you applied for the loan.
