Here is an update on my case with PDL Assistance. I submitted a complaint against PDL Assistance with the Better Business Bureau. After communication with Collin Holy, I was told that I would receive a refund on my account after my account was drafted without my permission. Well, I get a phone message and a letter from the Better Business Bureau that I would have to agree with the refund through the Better Business Bureau and then I would receive my refund. I did just that and as of now, one week later, no refund, no nothing and I was told it would be 2 to 3 business days from the date of the acceptance. Then on top of that, the Better Business Bureau is right along with PDL Assistance and is not doing anything about the big lie that PDL Assistance did. I'm blasting both PDL Assistance and the Better Business Bureau in Alabama. Do not do any business with either of these companies. If you want to consolidate your payday loans, go through someone else. Not PDL Assistance. They are a scam and will take your money and leave you high and dry and the Better Business Bureau will sit around and just let PDL Assistance do whatever they want without helping you.

Yes, Mrs. Turner is correct. PDL assistance is a scam. I should have known with the shoddy background that I heard when I was talking with one of their scam artists.

I'm sorry to hear about your situation but appreciate you sharing your experience as I, too, am in payday loan hell and had an initial consultation with PDL Assistance.

Based upon the numbers they gave me over the phone, it appears that they would be charging significant fees as the total amount that I would pay to them over an 8 month period came out to what I owe the various payday lenders but PDL claimed they would be saving me 50-70% off the initial loan amount. Their representatives were very pushy too and kept calling me at work to try to get me to give them a post-dated check to commence working for me. Sure glad I didn't.

Best of luck to you Vanisha!

I'm so sorry about your experience with them. I for one have had a truly wonderful experience with them. My husband and I found ourselves in 3200.00 in payday loan debt. We started the program and all the calls stopped and we are 6 months away from being payday loan free. I will admit it was awful having to deal with all of the companies before we got started with PDL but things are much better now.. When you research these companies, you need to find what fits you best. It's not a ONE SIZE fits all.. Good luck

I am scheduled to have 2 more of my accounts paid this Fri. thru PDL Assistance. This will make a total of 4 out of 10 pdl's paid off. In addition, the remaining 6 have been negotiated and are scheduled to be paid June 30, the end of this month.

For me, PDL Assistance has been a lifesaver. I am sorry it hasn't worked out for some and don't understand why it hasn't, if you follow the steps. NOTE: The original lender CAN still call you (I still get calls from Ameriloan, even though this account has been negotiated and is scheduled to be paid this month) but collection agencies have NOT been calling me once I sent the cease & desist letter, per PDL Assistance's instructions.

It has taken a year, but in the meantime I have NOT been getting the harassing calls I would have gotten otherwise. It is true you can do this yourself and it probably would have taken about the same length of time. You could save $$ on fees - UNLESS you don't negotiate as low a settlement as PDL Assistance would. And unless you have nerves of steel, you'd probably end up settling for a higher amount to pay off your loan to stop the calls. And some of the illegal internet payday loan co.'s would still profit because they'd still get paid over and above the principal amount of the loan.

I also found it unnerving not knowing what scare tactics are real and what are bogus, or just bluffing, when I got initial calls from collection agencies.

Everyone please! Yoy can do this yourself! First you have to close your account and get a live paycheck! Then send a letter to all your PDL companies revoking any wage assignments you have agreed to and get a copy to your HR person! Once you have control you can deal on your own terms! Read this article, it will help. http://tinyurl.com/pdltrap

Unfortunately, I had payday loans. Called PDL and was told that they worked with US Fast Cash and others. Signed up with them. Here how it is so far - since last year. Paid 3 of the loans myself because they would not negotiate with PDL. Keep getting calls from two other loan companies, informed PDL of this monthly, was told not to worry they are working on it. Received a call yesterday from PDL (finally) and was told they wanted to give me an update, which I requested a couple of weeks ago. FastCash and 500Cash will not work with them. These are two that I have been calling them about and was told by PDL not to worry. Now yesterday they came back and told me that the two companies refuse to work with them (this is after 7 months), so I need to set up payment options myself. They did settle 1 loan for me, but at full price, no discount, it pulled all the $$ out of my account.

PDL did nothing for me and I am canceling my contact with them.

My suggestion is to work with the payday vendors to set up payments. This all would have been taken care of 6 months ago if I did that and I would have save my initial cost with PDS and my credit.

Wow - i should've looked into this before yesterday. I just signed on with PDL and my loans are due today. I was told yesterday not to pay any of them and to go to my banker and see about putting stop pmts on the ach debits that they're going to try and hit on my account. Now i'm really scared about all this. My credit rating is poor to say the least and this sounds like it will completely ruin it so I'm confused now. Do i continue with this and at the end of 8 months try and start over? Or do I try and negotiate settlements myself?

I gave PDL my initial money for their welcome kit. I have 5 payday loans. Yes I am learning never ever to fall in this trap again. I have a strict budget made out, in which i will never deviate from. Anyway here is my question. I did sign agreements with PDL. Is there any legal recourse for withdrawing my agreement with them? I am kind of up in the air about them right now, after what I have read. I think that I can take care of this debt, by contacting these companies myself and work out a payment arrangement with them. I have been contacted by two companies already, that say they do not do business with PDL. They both say that they would work out a livable arrangement with me. Any suggestions?

It depends on what your contract says, you may have to forfeit a portion of your deposit to get out of the contract. I agree, you can do it yourself FREE.

I'm not going to lie. The very beginning of the program with PDL was slow and nerve racking but once I got a couple months into it, the calls stopped. I JUST finished my 8 month program with them and all 9 of my accounts are settled and done.

If I were dumb enough to get in the hole with payday loans again, I'd surely go with pdl again.

Well why would someone come bac to a post? I guess maybe they are really employees of the PDL? I just signed up with them and they assured me they worked with all the lenders I mentioned and that in their experience the lenders would stop calling me and the fees were high, but from shopping around for this type of assistance they were much cheaper than a lot of them. I had one want 600 up front, + monthly payment that was 3 months longer PDL and twice as much , plus they would charge 10% of any money they saved me but honestly they dont' save you anything you can't negotiate yourself. I am just doing it so I can make one payment and not have to stress out dealing with 6 lenders harrassing me. I did look at the D rating on BBB but saw all BBB complaints were resolved.
