I started with payday loans last year, it was a easy fix, the first loan was awesome - gave me extra cash and was easy to pay back. It was easy to go get it again too, after I got another couple loans and paid them back it was Christmas time, I took out a second payday loan to get through the holidays, thinking at tax time I could pay them back. Tax time came and I didnt get as much as I had expected back, my cars rear end went out and I went in debt for a new car, had to have $500 more to add to the flimsy downpayment I had to start with so - I got another loan, then had to put a front end brake job, bearrings etc in the new car (which had no warranty) costing me $800. To make a long story short, everytime I get the loans paid off and I think I am home free, something comes up and I need the money I just used to get free from these PDL's I am now juggling 4 PDL's at $795 a pop and I am sinking, it is all ready to put me under. I just dont know what to do, I am the only one working, my husband got laid off and I cant get a bank loan to get these things under control.

Best advice I could give: NEVER take out a Payday loan, and if you do keep it minimal, around $200 so it is easier to get out of.

Thanks for letting me vent.

nternet or storefront? 2 of each
amount borrowed-amount paid? 2 for $600 (internet) 2 for $700 (storefront)
what state are you in? WA

and who are the PDL companies? Advance america, Money tree (storefront)
1800899cash, cashnetusa (internet)

I have tried to pay them off and wind up getting them again to pay my bills and get to work.
I am coming due again on the 14th and have stopped my direct dep. because I have to pay my rent. I am at a loss and dont know what to do.

(sorry it took so long to get back but been working long hours and today is my day off)

If you just stopped your direct deposit without closing or freezing your account they are going to keep debiting your account and raking up nsf fees. Some people have said they have had a pdl try to debit thier account multiple times in a day using different amounts and names and each one will get you an nsf fee, ended up with you owing a lot to your bank. You need to close your account to stop that. I am not familiar with WA laws although you can research it in the stickys and by searching in the box on the top right of this page. Although your storefronts and CashNetUSA are going to be legal and will have to be paid back, the other one I am unsure on.

I plan on paying them all off, my rent is my priority now. I am keeping the account open. I am going to talk to the PDL companies and hope for the best. I will talk with my bank tomorrow and see what they suggest I do.

And, by the way - Thank you all for your replies, it helps just to be able to talk about it. :)

You can have your bank freeze your account to further debits. My bank did that and opened another account for my direct deposit. Worked out beautifully. PDLs couldn't debit and they sent me e-mails stating there was no money in account. I got out of pay day hell the week of July 27th!

I took your advice Aubrey, I had my bank freeze my account and open me a new one. What a relief. I talked to the two online companies and Cashnetusa is working with me but 1800899cash are not so understanding and are trying to debit me anyhow when I told them the money is not there. I am at least going to be able to pay my bills now.

Please allow me to caution you on taking the "hard core" approach since 3 of the 4 are legal lenders. The legal lenders are licensed and have rights to collect via telephone, mail, collections agencies and small claims.

Remember to differentiate between licensed and unlicensed lenders...

I plan to pay them all off, but when they wouldnt work with me it was going to put me in the hole. In the hole I can't pay anything. I am enjoying breathing for a few days and then I will call them again and try to work out something.

And the two store front PDL have already been changed over to my new account. One can go into repayment and the other I am paying off the first of the month. The two internet PDL's are the ones I am trying to get to work with me.

I talked to a collections rep from 1800899CASH yesterday and explained my delima with him (went for the honest approach) and he said the next scheduled payment was the first, BUT my balance has been jacked up by $300. On a $600 installment loan to pay it off in full would be $985. I asked him why it was so high and he said because I missed a payment, the payment I missed goes on top of the balance. Does anyone know if this is legal?? Doesnt seem right to me. The other lenders I am working with just moved the dated but didnt add finance to it. ...
Its like they are trying to make it impossible to get out of.

totally frustrated ... thank goodness I closed that account.

Ok, I have gotten the two storefront PDL under control and starting a repayment plan. The internet sites are different, they will work with me but say I cant send in a payment and they want too much at one time for me to pay them (they wont take less than half or the whole amount.) I am really trying here and have always been good at paying them, and in some cases paying them off early.

Will be talking to them Tuesday, will update then.
