I've received them myself on occasion; thankfully most of them go directly into my "spam" box.

I still receive the offers, even from the ones that I borrowed from! They just go into my spam folder and I delete everything without even opening them. Never know, one of the ones that I defaulted on might send me a virus!

Aubrey, you make an excellent point about the virus! I received one just yesterday from Star Advance, and I've been through with them about 2 years, now. But since I've been SUCH a good customer, they're making me an offer..... Yeah, right ;)

It just doesn't make sense.........if you 'default' on PDL's, why would they send you MORE offers? Yep..I do agree it probably is to get your information. ..or...those PDL's that you defaulted on, they are getting 'update' information. It's really scary to know how many people they pry on. Yes..........we have ALL been through tough times and had to get a PDL or two to pay off bills. You sure never 'hear the end of it', with them, do you?

And it's also a very sneaky way for them to get your new banking information--if you make the mistake twice of getting a PDL. What's that old saying? "Fool me twice, shame on me?" (or something like that...)

"Fool me once, shame on you....Fool me twice, shame on me". I cannot even fathom getting another PD loan after the mess I managed to extricate myself from a few months ago.
Peace of mind - PRICELESS.

let me tell ya...a friend of mine has gotten a few PDL's. I've been trying to tell her NOT to!! She says "money is tight", etc. She can be a little stubborn, as well, sometimes. She's had to default on a few PDL's in the past. I think what frustrates me is I've 'been thorugh' the PDL nightmare and she just won't listen to what I have to say!!

Unfortunately, some people have to learn the hard way. I have 2 bipolar daughters and one cannot handle money to save her life.

I know exactly what you are saying. I had a friend in the same situation and when I did what I could to help her make a budget (because I am ALWAYS better with other people's money then I am my own for whatever reason) I had her out of debt in a year... instead she found more PDL's and is now defaulting on them as well..... so who knows... I am just SO VERY GRATEFUL for this site and the information I have discovered in how to get out of that swirl without losing what little is left of my sanity!
