What is the worst that can happen if I show up to court. I tried to make arrangement to payoff the loan, but they want it paid off before the court date?

first, what state are you in?second who is the pdl?that would help in how you proceed.

then show up on time, have all other expenses and records of such.then explain to the judge that you want to pay this off,but tell him what you can manage.the worst that can happen is the judge orders a garnishment.that would be a maximum of 25%of disposable income.that is worst case.chances are the judge would allow a payment arrangement that is suitable to both sides.just go in there confidently and present your side.the judge won't break you financially to pay a pdl that much i do know.

if the loan is in your name only no.is he named in your summons.if not i don't see how they can.this is your debt not his.

then he is in the clear.just let the judge know about how you tried to make arrangements.that will work in your favor.
