There is actually more than just Langhorn and PDL Assistanc. These companies focus on settling the debts in which there is no garuntee. That's why their payments are soo much less then what you would expect. Did anyone attempt to check these out on the BBB or Rip Off Report. The mother company that handles Langhorn has over 60 complaints... PDL Assistance has only been around for maybe six months and do not communicate with your loan companies for 60 days or possibly more. Atleast until a good portion of their fee is paid off.

Check with your states Department of Finance or Banking departments. Find out if there any legalities regarding high interest PDL's. Quite a few states have adopted laws in order to keep someone financially somewhat safe. For example, the state of New York, pay day loans are simply just illegal. The only reason why people get them is because the internet is not regulated but you will never see a store front pay day loan company anywhere.

If the pay day loan is in another country for example the UK or Canada, they are NOT allowed to provide United States currency loans PERIOD... they are stealing from us. Turn them into your Attorney General and state banking commissions. CLOSE YOUR CHECKING ACCOUNTS and get assurance from your bank that an ACH draft will NOT re-open the closed account and put you in the negative.

Most pay day loan companies will work with you if you are legitimately trying to get rid of them, however you would need to go behind with them firs. The majority of PDL companies do not report to the credit bureaus but be careful. You normally can work out a payment plan on the principle of what you borrowed after them not receiving the twice a month renewal fee for 60 days, this is how PDL Assistance does it. DO NOT LISTEN TO A CUST SERVICE REP FOR ONE OF THESE PLACES IF THEY ADVISE YOU TO GO OUT AND GET ANOTHER PDL TO PAY THEM OFF. DOING THIS JUST STARTS THE NEVER ENDING PDL TRAP.

Touching base with the wage assignment from these monsters... You have the right as per the Federal Trade Commission to have the "Wage Assignment" revoked. Letting someone in your human resources department or payroll what is going on and that NO company is to "garnish" your wages with out a court order. You will need to send the PDL company a letter of revokation telling them that you no longer agree to the "wage assignment" in the loan agreement. I "cease communications" letter is also helpful so they are legally forbidden to contacy you, your employer, or anyone on the list of references that you gave them.

However in most cases, consumers still need outside help or "third party" help to get away from the legitimate ones. DO YOUR HOMEWORK ON THE COMPANY THAT YOU CHOOSE FOR THIS. There are actually more than just the two companies listed in prior entries on this site.
