Illegal Pdl Question

Well today I received a voice mail on my work number and cell number from someone at the EPL Fraud Dept. He said that my file "appeared" on his desk this morning and I have 4 bounced checks and now my account is frozen. I need to contact him immediately to make monthly payment arrangements or else they will report my social security number to Chexsystems as check fraud so I will "never ever be able to open a bank account again" (his words). He went on to say they will charge it off on my credit as well. He left two messages at my work number and one on my cell. It's not even supposed to be legal to leave messages like that is it? I mean ANYONE could've heard it. Of course, being that their illegal I don't really expect them to abide by the FDCPA or anything like that.

Also, I got a voice mail from PDL Yes too (Amazingly enough they were supposedly starting litigation against me and turned me over to a lawyer weeks ago...hmmmm these idiots should keep their stories straight) saying he was calling regarding bounced checks, but had "great news" for me (Which I'm sure invovled some lengthy nonsense payment arrangement on ana ccount that I've already paid) My question is, with these two imbecile companies and most of my other illegal pdl's, they will never provide me with a payment address. If they don't, do I need to not worry about it? I mean I certainly dont want to send some money to just any old address and then they'll conviently not get it.

Well, if they aren't providing you with an address, you can't send the money to them. I'd document all of the phone calls, emails, etc., what they say to you and what you say to them. As for their "great news"; since you've frozen your bank account and they can't get at it, I would be almost willing to bet that they'll tell you something like you've been SUCH a wonderful customer they want to offer you more money for a payday loan - needless to say, that's a very transparent way of trying to get your new bank information!
