I was recently called by PDM a debt collection company, although, they called themselves mediators. Anyway, the guy"Mr.Clark" told me that if I I had committed a serious offense for "writing" a check that I did not pay. He told me that when we hung up the phone that the original debtors were going to make an example out of me and have me arrested at my home or office. I asked to speak with Mr. Clarks boss and he refused and told me to find myself a good lawyer before hanging up. Can I be arrested? I owe two payday loans to two different companies. When I asked Mr. Clark why this was the first time I was hearing from him (the debt was a year old) he said according to the information I signed virtually since it was an online loan, they were not required to reach out to me. I just want to make sure that I cannot go to jail. I have no problems paying the debt back, but he told me I had to pay at least 488 dollars in a matter of two days and I didn't have it.

No, you cannot go to jail---if his threats were true then I (and everybody else on this board) would be in jail right now. He is just trying to scare you into paying the whole amount owed right this second.

First---how much are the loans for, who are they with and what state do you live in?

I had a credit card company collection call today and the guy said I had a payment due of xxx dollars and had I perhaps "just won the lottery? cause thats a pretty big amount due". Definitely the strangest collection call I have ever had.

Don't give Mr. Clark another thought.

I just had the same experience with PDM collections. I called to reschedule a payment arrangement and I was told that if they took that check out of the system the original creditor would require payment in full asap or they would start the process of having me prosecuted.... I live in Alabama and I dont know what else to do so I told him remove the check out of the system. I am in payday loan checking account hell and I dont know what to do....

I have a question and need help, I had 2 outstanding payday loans and recieved a call from PDM about 6 weeks ago, I successfully made arrangements to pay them off because I fell for the "we have a court order waiting against you" trick, I was told that I would be paid in full and now they are calling me again at work and harassing me telling me no, I was not paid in full, I have the copies of the debits from my checking account and I am sure have over paid, (Original 2 loans - 1 was 300.00 and the other 250.00) I have paid 395.00 and 405.00, they are threatening me saying I did not pay in full what should I do?
