Planning on closing account, need advice
Date: Sun, 02/24/2013 - 18:42
Ideal gelt $750 - Paid: $675
Ameriloan $250 -Paid: $300
USfastcash $300 - Paid - $620
Netpdl $200 - Paid $ 158
The fees are outragous AND keep changing. Usfast cash was down to $30 for this week(was paying it down) now its $65! Same with Ameriloan. Should be $75 this week, just checked my balance..they will be taking out $125!!! So naturally I investigate and find Im paying illegal payday loans! I'm aware of the certified C&D letter I will need to send. Ugh. My tax return is coming this week so I want to wait until Monday to close my account but these loans are due to renew Friday. My biggest and really only fear is that they will call me at work. I plan to payback my remaining loan amounts to Idealgelt and Netpdl. However, I'm thinking I will call them and state due to changing jobs(which i expect will prompt them to ask for my new info which will allow me to give a different office and number) but to also delay my payment a week as changing jobs caused me to change what week I am paid so they won't take $415 from me this Friday! Thoughts???
As you yourself figured out,
As you yourself figured out, all your lenders are illegal. Certified C&D letters are only applicable in case of 3rd party collectors, not actual lenders. Since you are worried about your bank account getting hit, you will need to send copies of ACH revocation letters to your bank and your lenders. That will keep them from debiting your account. You will also need to revoke any voluntary wage assignment you may have signed. Same MO, give a copy to the lenders and the other copy to your payroll/HR. Close your bank account only AFTER you have revoked ACH.
You have overpaid Ameriloan and USFastCash. Stop paying and demand a refund of the amount you paid over and above the principal. As for the other 2 lenders, repay them when you can and want to. The ball is in your court and they will just have to play by your rules. Repay only using a money order.
