that postdated checks are not considered bad checks, is this true?


Depends on the state. You've got 50 different state laws on what is considered a "bad check." In some states, a post-dated check is never a bad check. In others, it's only a bad check under certain circumstances (like closing the account after writing the check). In still more, post-dated checks used to secure payday loans are exempt from bad check laws. And in still others, a bad check is a bad check is a bad check.

Of course, being post-dated is NEVER enough in and of itself to make a check "bad." A check can't be bad until it is deposited and bounces.
