Sounds to me like someone was on a fishing expedition. I would wait to see what she faxes. The phone number is not valid, there is no telling what she was up to. Sometimes I get angrier because they take us for being stupid more so than the rediculousness of the phone calls.
I did forget to add that she also told me to call 1-888-724-4111

I asked if she could tell me where I was calling she said it depends on the division...I said I was looking for some state office and she said I need a division number...If locating a company is going to be that difficult, then I would say let them contact you again and don't worry about them. When you get the info from the person who called then you reserach and prepare and arm yourself.

Well, when I got the time and called I got suspicious right away when the first time I called and it hung up on me and the 2nd time she said front desk......you are right....
Thanks for the help! :P
YES
This company you are refering to is a collection company...i received the same exact call...she then passed on the phone to her supposed supervisor who told me that he was going to file stolen money charges against me. He tried to hang up on me, but i asked to speak to someone else and she faxed me what i supposedely owed on a payday loan. Except i paid all of these payday loans off in full...scam artists here..they cannot file criminal charges and no ligit company would harrass an individual like that.
Received call from this # 888-724-4111 Div 409 (Lisa Poole)
I received a call on my voicemail this morning at 9:24 am (Eastern Standard Time) by some woman by the name of a supposed "Lisa Poole" (if that is her real name), that she needed to speak with me or my attorney ASAP as soon as possible but did not specify what the call is regarding. Lisa Poole left her number of 888-724-4111 Division 409. Sounds suspicious to me. This moron did not pronounce my name correctly. Go figure.
I tried to do a reverse phone search using the provided number using Google, which brought me to this website. I also tried a couple of other search tools such as the BBB but did not come up with anything. Anyone familiar with this company or what their address is or any other information. If anyone could provide information on this phone number it would be very helpful. Thanks in advance.

I havent been able to find anything on them.......I havent heard back from them since the first time.....I'm not worried about it. The call I got sounded very suspicious to me as well... :D

Fluffy, apparently this is a collection agency that likes to threaten people. It seems they collect for pdls. I have called but could not get any information from the person on the other end. You could try calling the number and seeing if you can get any info.
404-000-3849
I got much the same call just now...they threatened to call my employer and such, and kept saying they would 'put me in the system' ... every time I asked that they said 'you know what i mean, don't make us embarrass you today'...i'm not even sure if I owe the pay day loan or not. I'm trying to find out. But they said I need to pay by 1 pm. The 'supervisor' was named Irwin and referred to by last name. He was by far the rudest of them. The whole thing seems very suspicious

yeah the only method of payment they wanted was to deposit money in to a bank acct, which is beyond shady. Upon asking for their address in order to verify this supposed debt, they wouldn't give it to me. After asking what it was for, I told them. They said they'd fax it, I said I didn't have access to a fax machine right now, then they transferred me and put me through the same routine.
I'm thinking this isn't even a collection agency but rather is just a flat out scam. I've never heard of a collection agency who wouldn't take a credit card payment over the phone. Also, they've already violated the law by making threats like that.
Number
I also got a call today saying I owed money for two different online loan companys, I know I paid all loans I had, over 2 years ago, so this is just another scam, they wanted the money today or else I was being turned over to the courts, of a county I never lived in of course, I was told to call back at 888-724-4111 Div 410. I didn't call back.
This would be the phone number for State Predistribution Service
This would be the phone number for State Predistribution Services. And as for turning you over to the courts...scare tatcis to scam money out of you. Thank goodness you did not fall for it.
thank you
I googled the number Harvey W. Kissel gave me, after threatening to 'turn me into my state' for non-payment of a payday loan-that was paid 19 months ago.
He called me dishonest, told me to change the color of my Christmas tree to black, because my Christmas would suck. I hung up. This firm states they are calling from Charleton County GA but will not clarify further. It sounds as if they are in the sheriff's office, preparing a warrent. I am goint to report them to Charlton County GA fraud division-I just wanted you to know I appreciate those who posted previously.
Lnmob-sorry you had to experience that. I would DEFINATELY file
Lnmob-sorry you had to experience that. I would DEFINATELY file a complaint with the BBB-FTC-Attorney General's office for that kind crap you got on the phone. They are not preparing a warrarnt- that is to scare you. He called you from the same number that I got the call from?
yes
I don't have caller ID, but the return number was 1-888-724-4111, unit 408. That number is a global answering service. I reported to Oregon (my state) and Georgia attorney general fraud division, as well as Townsend (county seat of Charlton county) GA. These web postings probably saved me from heart failure, or something close, so your information is greatly appreciated.
1-888-724-4111
I got a call at wk from 1-888-724-4lll, thought it was from Jackson Phillips a debt coll. in FL, but not same # as J&P lead me to believe they were Att. not, pd for 4 months, then dec couldn't get ahold of them, had # but didn't return calls, so quit paying. wounder if they tras. acct. to another place, you say # is for Georgia, would like to know name of company
It sounds to me like these CA's for PDL's are getting desperate
It sounds to me like these CA's for PDL's are getting desperate and going back through accounts that were paid off and trying to get more money from people saying they either missed a payment or last payment was no good. Definitely sounds like a scam to get more hard-earned money from us. None of them are getting any more out of me!
Remember-if you talk with any of them-be very calm-don't let them think they got you! Get them flustered before they do you!
State Predistrubition Services
I have been reading several things on this. I got a call at my job a few days ago. They say that I owed them over $500. I did not know who they were. They were really nasty with me. When one would not get thru to me she transfered me to someone else. Someone at an ext 407.
She had told me that I owed back to October 2006. Now this is so stupid! She wanted the money right then and there. I have no idea on what is going on. She then proceeded to tell me that they would set up payment arrangements in the amount of $100 every two weeks. They even went as far as getting my bank information.
I went that afternoon after I got off work and changed all my bank information. This woman even threatened to have me arrested for stolen money. Plus she went a step further. She threatened me with my job! Now that is pretty low.
I went to the sherrifs department to file a report. They said it was a civil matter and could not help me. But they are suppose to be giving me the number to someone I can call. This woman is giving two different stories. She told him that she was a pay day loan company in town. Gave the name of the company. I went to them, and they called her. She told them that she did not say that but she was an online pay day loan company. I do not do these things.
Has anyone gotten the proper number to call and report this so it will STOP!

Majestic, my suggestion would be to send them a letter requesting they validate this supposed debt. In the letter is a cease and desist with phone contact. I will post a link to a letter for you to use as a guide and then I will post what address and phone I can find for you. The letter is good becuase if they are a collection agency, this letter is legal and they have to follow the fdcpa. Sent the letter certified return receipt...and if they continue to contact you after they have the letter, you have a legal leg to stand on..
