You need to send them ( by email and you should by certified mail, too ) a cease and desist letter, instructing them that they are not authorized to contact you at your work numbers ( nor at your references, either, for good measure ) and that you will only correspond with them through email.

Also, they cannot press charges for fraud. They would have to prove that you intentionally wrote them a bad check to steal money from them. They cannot press criminal charges on a defaulted payday loan.

MR, Do as Amaranth said and send a letter, or if you have that clause in your pdl letter,resend that... Unfortunately, it is difficult to get them to stop calling. I had the operator send all my calls to voice mail and would reply to my calls with e-mails. Eventually they will stop calling. Should you actually talk to them, do not let them scare you. You know you can not be arrested, they will argue they can tell them to go ahead and hang up. :D

I dealt with PDLyes and sent them a C&D letter. My brother-in-law is a lawyer. After he looked into it, he found out that First National is the parent co. of PDLyes and they are 1st party.The FDPCA has no effect on 1st party collections. My bro-i-l said I was stupid in the 1st place for taking out a PDL. I now agree. It's not PDLyes to blame, it's me.

BTW, my brother-i-l was able to settle my debt with PDLyes. i legitimately owed them. I dealt with 2 real **** there, but the one guy who helped me take care of this was nice as could be. It seems not all bill collectors are assholes as everyone makes they out to be. Maybe if I took care of my finances better I wouldn't have to worry about them in the 1st place. But, alas, I'll be like everyone else and play victom and blame the bill colectors in the 1st place.

I Had the same guy calling and now there are two new ones. a MRS. Murphy and Mr. Elis they told me they would take legal action so I went out and laready sent 240.00 then I callaed my lawyer and he told me to ignore them and send all I can , as long as you maek some payments they cannot do anything ... Mr. Elis was so rude I told him I aLready reported him to ther Attorney General of Florida and he asked me if I was watching cartoons and was not understanding that I had to pay TODAY. that was yesterday and they are calling again today saying it is my last chance....

When I had a loan with Payday-Loan-Yes I delt with 2 different collectors, Robert Lewis who was a real prick and Hal Kreiger who was a nice dude. Hal told me that Robert Lewis was so mean because he was a closet homo. Hal also told me that he was a real "ladies man" and there wasn't a woman in the office that he hasn't had!

hmmm... if you use a credit card do you just pay the principle borrowed or do you pay the principle PLUS interest? Do you pay all the late fees and over the limit fees that they hit with with since you are too stupid to handle your own finances correctly in the first place?

I delete all of them. Why dont you get off your high horse and go do something that will help humankind rather than be the parasite that you are.

Most people have taken out a loan and paid WELL above the legal amount of their state limits. THAT is the argument here.
These pdl companies know they are not legally able to loan out money to 98% of the people they do. They prey on those in tough spots and have the nerve to get upset when they are caught.

If you would abide by state laws....you'd still make money and wouldn't have to worry about people who decide to stop paying you because you'd actually have laws on your side.

We are here to help one another and share information.
A lot of us have financial problems through no fault of our own. A lot of people are losing their jobs and finances are strapped with the high prices on everything.
My own credit suffered after I lost 2 jobs because of downsizing.
These predatory lenders saw the opportunity to offer money at outrageous rates to those of us whose credit is not great and made our financial situations worse.
If you're never had money worries................good for you.

To our dear guest, do you have something against on-line learning? A masters degree or a doctorate degree is hard to get whether you get in on campus or on-line. What does your posting have to do with payday lenders that loan money in states that does not permit payday lending? Also when you try to make arrangements, they want to yell and scream at you. I am not going to even start with the lies, yes LIES they tell you. For example, one customer service rep told me that they were going to garnish my wages and my hr department told me that they could not do that because it was not state, federal or child support.
Please read what other people have dealt with before making such harsh judgements.
