I have 9 internet payday loans and need to find a way to get out of them. For most of them I have paid more than the principal amount I borrowed. Since it is starting to affect my other bills I need to get off of this vicious cycle. I am in the State of Wash and have read that if the lender is not licensed I am only liable for the principal amount owing. I have checked the DFI site and only two of the lenders are registered.

Does anyone have any advice?

Cash Central $345
United Cash $390
1-800-899-CASH $240
CASHNET USA $676
Payday Services $417
US Fast Cash $390
zip19 $360
CashDirect $390
Signmyloan $391

I just spoke to someone at the WA DFI and she gave me the WAC's which pertain to the internet payday loans. I am going to try and take care of this myself, so wish me luck. I did get the copy of the letter to email the PDL's. I'm wondering if I can specify they contact me only by email and not include USPS?

mhood ~ things will work out. Hang in there, but like what was mentioned, be prepared for some nasty stuff coming form the companies that are illegal. They will threaten you with everything under the sun, including jail, etc. Know that you can always get support and help here. Many of us have been through the same things and have gotten through them.

Hang in there, it can be done!! Good Luck!

They r saying I owe them $1088.00. I thought after a credit card was charged off then they couldn't sue u for the balance owed on the card? I live in Ga. and got a paper from the county court that said I have to go down to the courthouse to fill out some papers regarding this.

I have had some success with the pdl and so things seem to be progressing. I have contacted zip.19 and the woman was very rude and not willing to work out any agreement even though they are illegal in the state of WA. Does anyone have any info on them?

If you search "ZIP" in the search box you will find lots of posts and threads about them. Here is one that is going on right now.

Do not let them being rude upset you. They are rude because they are illegal and you caught them.

Stick your thumbs in your ears, wiggle your fingers and stick out your tounge while saying "Neener Neener Neener" at the phone next time they call :D

I have had some success with some of the PDL's. US Fast Cash and UnitedCash have called and are trying to settle with me for a huge amount even though they are illegal in the State of Washington. I have email the RCW's from the State of Washington to their compliance offices and will wait to hear from them. I have also told the collection reps I will only make an agreement with their company after I hear from the compliance dept. I'm I wrong to engage with them. One rep said they would take me to small claims court and I told them to go ahead because I would show the Judge they had not obtain the small loan endorsement from the State!

Wish me luck!

just make sure you protect your bank account ( open a new one) and then ignore the illegal ones. You owe them nothing. If you have not yet sent the illegals anything in writing try this:

"It has come to my attention that you a payday loan I have with you was made in violation of Washington State Administrative codes governing Check Cashers/Sellers and Payday Lenders (Chapter 208-630 WAC Check cashers and sellers - regulation of), wherein it states that payday lenders are required to be licensed by the State of Washington. This law applies to any payday loans made to Washington State Residents regardless of the state of origin or contractual jurisdiction agreements.

Because you were conducting payday lending business in violation of this administrative code and the governing law directing its creation. This violation renders our contract illegal in the State of Washington, rendering ay terms agreed to therein null and void. Under the above noted law, loans made illegally are not collectable.

Effective immediately, I hereby permanently revoke any and all authorizations, assignments or rights granted to __________, its successors and/or assigns to electronically access any account owned by me. Futhermore, I hereby immediately and permantently revoke any actual and/or alledged voluntary wage assignment claimed by you.

On advice of counsel, prior to either initiating civil action and/or requesting that Washington State authorities investigate your business practices (including those of any potentially related businesses) I am requesting a refund of fees paid in the amount of $_________ Understanding that this request is an attempt to avoid pursuit of other remedies, I am willing to agree in writing not to pursue additional civil action to seek redress.

I may be willing to explore other options to resolving this situation and I look forward to your written reply"

I'm assuming these debts have something to do with payday loans since you posted in the payday loan section? Your first step would be to start a new topic and list the following information:
-Names of each pdl company.
-Whether they are store front or Internet.
-How much you borrowed.
-How much you paid so far.
-The state in which you reside.

Thank you.

I have 2 payday loans...CashNetUSA and VIP Loans. I'm unable to pay the amount they want me to pay. I reside in Texas but I have a checking and saving with a credit union in NJ. Can someone give me advice on what I need to do? Do I need to close my account?

Well, CashNetUSA might be an installment type of lender, double check your contract to make sure because if they are listed as an installment they are legal, on the other hand, if they are listed as a payday lender, they won't be legal in the state of N.J. because payday loans are prohibited in your state. Which brings me to VIP, as far as I know they are listed as a payday lender, which makes them unlicensed in your state. CLICK HERE to find out how to deal with illegal lenders.
