I received this message: This is Michael Gomez. I am a process server for the state. I have been retained to serve you with a summons to appear in court. This is in regards to a breach of contract with the intent to defraud a financial institution. I need to schedule a date and time to serve you with the court documents. Unfortunately, since I have not been able to contact you by phone, I will be actively serving you at your residence or place of employment. If you have any questions, please contact the plaintiff at 866-599-5696.

How does legitmate process serving work? Wouldn't they give a name of the company? They called my cell and my mom's phone twice and left a message on her answering machine.

i wouldn't even check with your court clerk.go to their website and search with your name as the defendent.when you fond nothing file a police report as i would consider the call an illegal threat.the "defrauding a financial institution"is a dead giveaway.btw an internet pdl, which i'm almost sure that this is the case is not anything but an illegal debt done by a criminal enterprise.after you play that garbage for your local police.play it for your state AG.bottomline the only crime was commited by him,and he should be reported then ignored as all humanoids need to be.

i got the same call from someone else on 7/11/11. I am quite sure this is part of a scam. I was told the same thing and was going to be charged with check fraud. These people obtain your info when you apply for a payday loan then use these tactics to intimidate you into giving them money.
