A process server called my husband friday to let him know about a lawsuit against him and told him to call Nationwide Law Firm to settle this matter. He called again today to let him know that he has verified an address to go and server him papers because he already gave him a chance to settle the matter and he didn't. He then stated that my husband has until then to call again since he has not received verification from this law firm to serve him the papers just yet. I find it very strange that he keeps calling from different numbers with different area codes. Please help, is this right? Will my husband get served papers for an unpaid pdl?

Yes, he does owe this pdl, but we have no clue on how to go about paying it back the proper way since its been more than a year. He paid one back when the same tactics were used, but he never received documents that he paid it off, although they kept saying they would.

a couple of questions here.

1)is this an internet loan.
2)if so how much was borrowed, and how much was debited.

you see most internet lenders are illegal.not only in texas, but every other state as well.i would do as soaplady advised as if the lender was internet and illegal you might not owe as much,or anything as if the lender was illegal you only owe the principle, and anything debited in rollovers gets deducted from that.last thing.soaplady was also right in that no process server calls ahead.report this place and inform them you will not talk further until you receive something in writing.do not give then a chance to lie and talk over you.hang up.do that and try to find out the info above as you might be suprised by how little if anything he does owe on this.
