I'm just looking to see if I did the right thing today. I've been a reader of this group now for quite a while. I have 3 PDL's here in CT. I recieved an email last week stating that they will be selling my loans to a 3rd party collection agency. I just want these people off my back. So I sent them the letter in one of the templates on here stating that they were prohibited in my state and that I would pay back the principal balance.

My loans are as follows:
Plain green - Rec'd 700 paid 265
Great Plains - Rec'd 400 paid 2 pymts of 88.00
Mobiloans - Rec'd 550 paid 2 payments of 125. (Haven't even heard from them)

Was this the right thing to do? Are these illegal in CT?

Thanks in advance....I'm just a bit nervous!

Don't call them - just resend your email to them - here are some additional emails you can use to send to if you need.. accountservices@plaingreenloans.com, support@plaingreenloans.com, shteam@plaingreenloans.com, accounts@plaingreenloans.com -- I normally send to all of them - the support one generates back a response email so you know that got yours.. - resend them what you originally stated that - this is what I stated in mine "I demand that any contact be made through US Postal mail or email only. I will need everything in writing to keep accurate records of all communication as per instruction from my state Attorney General's Office. I prohibit you or your affiliates to contact me via telephone at my place of employment, my home or cell telephone number. I also prohibit you from calling my references listed on my loan."

Plain green responded to my email stating that I need to call. How does everyone do this in writing? I'm afraid if I call then I won't have everything documented.

Anyone's thoughts on this?

They may try -just stand you ground, best to keep all communication with them limited to mail and email - stay off the phone - they will just try to frustrate you and keep us posted.. we are all here to help.
Plain Green - looks like you will owe - $435.00
Great Plains - looks like you will owe - $224.00
Mobiloan - looks like you will owe - $300.00

Remember that the repayment will be on your terms - have a plan and present to them what will work for you. Not sure how Mobiloans - not sure how they will react their loans always looked weird to me - I have not had any dealings with them, other than getting their offers in the mail all the time.

So far so good! Great Plains settled for the principal balance.

Plain green still hasn't responded to my email when I refused to call them. I'm hoping I hear something.

Yes I closed my account. Did that before I emailed the letters. Just so nerve wracking! I'm sure they'll give me a hard time but I'm ready. Thank you all.

Payday lending is illegal in CT so the lenders are illegal.. I hope that you closed your bank account as they will try to take money out. Open a new one with no link whatsoever to the old one.

keep us posted, remember you control how you repay the principal back.. give them an option that will work for you in your emails to them.. you will want to pay more than likely with money order mailed to them..
