I got myself into trouble with 4 payday loans that are now in default. I've had some financial trouble lately because of an accident and being off of work. They are now harassing me at work. I ended up closing my checking account because several of the lenders would try to debit my account on all different days of the week (not every 2 weeks on payday as agreed), and for different amounts. I live in Wisconsin. Please tell me which of these lenders are legal and licensed in my state, and what I can do:

Zip19: Loan $500 $0 paid to date
Payday Services: Loan $500 $150 paid to date
SpeedyCash: Loan $850 $75 paid to date
Purpose Cash: $300 Loan, $0 paid to date

Thank you.

WI payday loan laws are a little tricky, payday lenders must be licensed in your state IF the lender solicited you. You did the right thing by closing your account. Zip19 isn't licensed ANYwhere, therefore you would only owe them the amount your borrowed to begin with. You need to contact these lenders and make payment arrangements with them, you could send payments via certified mail with money orders, I wouldn't give them your new account information. Are any of these store front lenders, I don't recognize the other three as being Internet lenders but I could be wrong.
