NYS AG got back to me in less than 1 week!

I wonder if they are really cracking down on these IPL and PLs in general and that is why. I just sent them some more information that they required, so we'll see what happens next.

I've been waiting for weeks to hear from them. (I'm NY also) Last night I emailed the AG directly to ask for help. Did you submit the online complaint form or mail them one? And did you submit a complaint form on each PDL or just one form addressing all of them? Thanks in advance for your response because whatever you did works so I will change my course of action!

I faxed them my complaints. Two seperate ones, one for UCL, and the other for OneClick. I'm suprised you didn't hear from them yet. I was so surprised to have received a response so quickly. I printed out the online complaint form, filled it out, and faxed it. That's it so far. The letter I received yesterday was from one of the attorneys there and they needed some more info from me, so I faxed them a breakdown of all my payments to UCL, and the "contracts" (so far it looks like they only responsed to the UCL complaint, not OneClick yet).

Thanks so much - I guess I have some work to do. I have 15 PDL's (of which I have gotten 5 PIF's) but I still want the AG to look at them all. I will make copies of the forms and fill everything out tonight. Tomorrow morning I should be all set to fax. Thanks also for the headsup on what backup to gather, I don't have copies of all of the contracts but I do have 3 years of bank statements to reflect all of the deposits and payments. This should prove interesting I think I've seen other NY'ers posting recently - The AG won't know what hit him!

MPerez, If I were you, I wouldn't send them all that information up front. Just print out the complaint form, fill it out completely, and fax it over to them. They will get back to you and let you know what else they need. I wouldn't bombard them with too much paper right off the bat. I would, however, start getting all the information together so if they do contact you and need you to send it, you can do it right away.

Not a problem, I'm glad to help! I work for a lawfirm, so gathering paperwork is something I am VERY used to! ;)
mperez
mperez, read my post stating "AG". My feeling is that if you've filed a bunch of complaints, they're doing them all together and will then send you your information. Please read what I posted. And do not send too much. I filled out the complaint form and then included a "summary sheet" of what was going on and copies of the loan documents. That's it. They didn't need any other information. But I really think my "summary sheet" was a good idea. It pointed out all the facts, it was easy to read, and it made sense what I was complaining about. Try that. It's a whole lot easier than copying all the stuff and sending it. And, like I said, they didn't request any more information from me. They just got on it. Please read my post. I put it on here for all of us who were getting discouraged by not hearing from our state AG.
