Several years ago I took out a payday loan in WI (QuickCash)
in the amount of 200 i repayed over 300 in "finance charges, couldn't keep up stopped paying. It went to a collection agency for about three yrs I went back and forth with them, asked them to take me to court because I disagree with the amount they are trying to get (over 4,000). Now I have recieved a letter from a lawfirm stateing to pay that, but at the bottom it says this is a communication from a debt collector blah blah statement, I requested there collection liscense # 2 times through e-mails, they haven't responded, (does e-mail count?) Do they have the right to act as a collection agency? Any advice please....!!!

yes attorney's can collect debts, but they must follow the fdcpa and can be sued themselves for violating it.send a debt validation and cease and desist letter.send them certified mail return receipt.
