I just recently discovered this website, and I'm SO happy to have found it! It looks like it will be very helpful to me & to everyone else that comes to these boards as well!

I recently took out a $300.00 payday loan with Ameriloan. It's come to my attention that Ameriloan is actually not licensed to lend to people in my state (Maine). So far I've paid $180.00 on the loan which from my understanding means that I only owe them another $120.00. So, I'm planning on sending them a letter tomorrow morning via email based on one that I found on this site, basically letting them know that will pay the principal of the loan but that's it.

My last payment to them was supposed to be on 12/9/11. However, I closed my bank account after I started getting unauthorized charges from Lendnet who turns out to be an affiliate of Ameriloan's. I thought for sure I would have heard from Ameriloan by now complaining about how they tried to debit my account but they weren't able to. So far though, I still haven't heard a peep from them via email or phone. So, do you think I should still go ahead and email that letter to them tomorrow morning or wait until they contact me again (if they do) & then send it?

Part of me thinks I should send it but then I'm wondering if I should just play it by ear & wait for them to contact me and then send it. What do you guys think I should do?

one you say this lendnet debited without authorization and is affiliated with ameriloan.now did any of those go through, and how much is the amount?second if the debits did go through and they equal or exceed the 120.00 you say you still owe got news for you.you don't owe as anything debited by lendnet also gets deducted from ameriloan's 120.00 you still owe.btw having dealt with ameriloan myself i can state they are more than likely trying more d/b/a's as ameriloan is MTE as well and that has a bunch of diff d/b/a's.trust me they will contact after all efforts to debit have failed.

Did you revoke ACH rights and your voluntary wage assignment? Give a copy of the ACH revocation to your bank and the wage assignment revocation to your employer.

Where can I find a copy of the ACH revocation to give my bank? Also, do you think that's necessary to do even though my bank has already closed my account?

Also, I'm considered an Independent Contractor with my employer (rather than an actual Employee) and it states right in our contract that they won't provide employment verification, etc. So, I think they most likely wouldn't be willing to take on a wage assignment revocation either.

Hi Paul. Lendnet(Ameriloan's affiliate) was able to debit my account one time in the amount of $30.00 before I was able to close my bank account. I had to pay a $25.00 stop payment fee to my bank for this in order to get the bank to refund the $30.00 to me and in order to try to get Lendnet to stop debiting my account. So, you're saying that I don't actually owe $120.00 still. I owe them $120.00 minus any money that Lendnet took from my account which was $30.00. So, technically that means I only owe Ameriloan $90.00?

Also, I did receive a call from Ameriloan this morning. They left me a voice mail message that basically said their debit was returned to them (when they tried to debit my account the other day) & they were calling to offer me a payment plan & asked me to please call them back. I haven't called though. Planning on sending the letter to them via email instead...

you are right about the account and wage assignment.now yes deduct the 30.00 from the 120.00.also don't back down from that as ameriloan will insist you not only owe the principle still, but alot of other fees and charges as well.you only owe 90.00,and nothing more.

Thanks for your your input Paul.

Also, just checked my email and I had this email waiting for me from Ameriloan:

Ameriloan regrets to inform you that our ACH debit was not honored by your bank, and was returned marked for review. As a courtesy to you, our valued customer, we are extending an opportunity to amend this oversight.

Such matters are taken seriously at Ameriloan. However, we are aware that a dishonored check may be the result of a special and unavoidable circumstance, and we encourage you to quickly resolve this situation.

If you have any questions or concerns, or would like to discuss payment arrangements, please contact a customer service representative at 1-800-536-8918. For any correspondence, please use the following code, EM501. Once your account has been paid in full, you may be able to take advantage of our short-term loan program again.

Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.

Sincerely,

Customer Service

Since I already closed my bank account, I wonder if the debit was really returned "marked for review" or if Ameriloan is just saying that??

Just sent the letter to Ameriloan via email. Feels good to have done that but also I'm kinda nervous now because I've heard that Ameriloan is one of the harder payday loan companies to deal with. So, I'm anticipating them giving me a hard time.

Also, I will most likely be deleting my account on here and creating a new one as this is a public board & I've decided I really should change my user ID to a more anonymous one.

Well, it's been five days since I sent that letter to Ameriloan via email & since then I haven't heard a single word from them. No more emails. No more phone calls. Nothing!

Do you guys think it's all possible that maybe they get so many emails that they just haven't had a chance to even read mine yet? Even if that was the case though, you'd think they still would have contacted me again by now...

Hi,

Did you receive a reply from Ameriloan?

I received exactly the same e-mail and responded. I stated that they're illegal In NJ and demanded a refund for my overpayment. I also already filed a complaint in AG earlier this month.

Please keep us posted if you receive any respond from them.

Thanks.

I would go to a grocery store or check cashing place and cash it that way. They sent you unexpected money and there is nothing stating it has to be deposited.
