my husband and i have gotten caught in the PDL cycle and I need to get out. we are in ohio. we have two plain green loans, 800.00 each, paid so far 419.00 on each. 2 cashcall/western sky 2525.00 each, paid so far 803.00. Magnum 678.00, 1 payment of 174.68. Instant Cash Credits 200.00 paid 60.00 Check n go online...original amount was like 2000.00 paid probably close to all of it....but not the interest part. reloaned on it and only made one payment that didn't clear the other day. I need advice what to do. I read the parts about closing account. My question is, do I close account and tell them what I"m willing to pay and how often? Need some help and direction. I feel like there's at lesat one more loan, but can't find at moment. Also, daughter took pdl from plain green for us. amount was 800.00 we've paid1224.00 on it so far, next payment due friday. Advice and help, please, I'm drowning!

Check 'n Go is the only lender you have that's legal in Ohio. Call them and ask for an extended payment plan. They should break your balance due into 4 equal payments due over your next 4 pay dates.

For the illegal lenders, you should follow the advice in my signature link. You're only required to repay the principal. If you've overpaid (like on the one PG loan), apply that overpayment to other loans with the same company or ask for a refund (depending on which applies).

You'll have to close your checking account. So when you call CnG, set up the payments via a prepaid debit card.

I think you should think about filing a complaint with the AG and the FTC against the illegal PDLs in case they refuse to co-operate with you and give you the refund.

Hi, jonheller. If you would read the link I referred the poster to, there are step-by-step instructions for dealing with illegal lenders, which include filing complaints with the state's AG and the FTC. There's no need to repeat what's already been advised.
